  1. can you recommend any decent Corsair RGB fans to get? I have 3 slots available in total.
  2. so I can get 2 new fans and connect them instead of what is there?
  3. Does that mean the fan controllers on the top will become redundant?
  4. Hi, I have a Falcon GameMax case and it has LED fans already, these are connected I believe to the front I/O due to the fan controllers, am I limited to these, or can I replace them. I can't tell if I can remove them or not without taking off the electrics.
  5. Does anyone own one of these cases? There is very little online about them and I’ve got a query about how you connect the chassis fan to the mobo. My mobo is ASUS Z270-a. It does come with 2 fan controls on top of the case, but they don’t show up in my bios. There is a CHA2_Fan connector on the board, and I have this black box thing which has sketchy instructions to be honest. It has these other connectors attached to the power cable. I’ve attached 2 images. Anyone know what I can do?
  6. Ok, I just read somewhere that HDD's are still important for storage, so I guess it just comes down to price.
  7. Hope your better - flu never good. Well, I don't know if me pressing the power on button on the actual mobo kicked it into gear. I was so close to buying some compatible memory with RGB too - because its all about the illumination eh? Another time perhaps, for now it works and I'm quite happy with how its turned out.
  8. I guess this comes down to usage right? i am a coder, but predominantly do that on my Mac and have done for 20 years. I also write and record music, again have done that on my Mac. I built my machine so I could get into gaming more, and have an SSD sata, have 2 spare bays for the HDD if I want them. I also have 2 slots on the motherboard for M2s. So my question is, do I need to get any HDDs? Or just go for a decent size M2? I admit I’m a novice in this kind of stuff, I am enjoying the discovery, but just wondered what the community thought the pros and cons were for getting an M2 over HDD. Other than speed over price, what other pros and cons are there?
  9. I’ve seen the 4K models now, and now I’m thinking of hanging on a month. Save up a bit more.
  10. 180 GBP in the uk. Decent price.
  11. Or I may go for the Powerline option.
  12. I love that I am discovering more and more from this forum, so I’m looking for sone advice on a monitor that is less than £300 but pretty good value for money. I wi be playing games on my machine, but not high end need a 1080 to okay kind of games. I have a 1060, which I believe limits my refresh rate to 66mhz? Any advice?
  13. I have like 2 walls in between me and the router. I may actually plump for getting another network port just wired directly into my garage.
  14. Ok, This is my current setup, it may and probably will change when I get around to it. I have a Sky Router in my lounge, I have 2 bands as standard. Both tend to give me a paltry download speed of 12-13mbs (Fibre is coming, one day). I have my PC in my garage at the moment, and I have a AC600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter. Which won't connect consistently, when it does its very slow, like less than 1mb. I have my iPhone in the same room, I run a speedtest on that and I get around 10mbs download. So what the hell? What can I do? Or is just a fact that these USB wireless adapters are quite simply a POS?
  15. It’s alive!!! i pressed that power button on Mobo. Then powered down, connected hdmi to gfx and I’m in business. No beeps though.
  16. Worth pressing that power button on the actual motherboard?
  17. This also looks similar to my issue, the final LED in POST stays green, which indicates Boot device. The DRAM LED is supposed to stay Yellow if its an error with the RAM, and it comes on and then goes off, so I assume that is fine. I just don't understand it.
  18. Ok, I took the GFX out and ran the test again, nothing new happened. Also but concerned I don't get any sounds from the motherboard, but the POST seems to be running because I notice the 4 LEDs lighting up, but it sticks on the final one that goes green. Should I get a VGA cable and try that? This memory thing is still bothering me though.
  19. Well this article turned me onto checking if the part was compatible and it turns out it is not on the list. https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/new-build-wont-boot-–-no-display-no-mobo-beeps.2949224/ The poster in that forum said he changed his ram and it worked fine after that. So I'm thinking that could be it.
  20. Could this be my problem? https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/TUF_Z270_MARK1/Z270_PRIME_TUF_STRIX_QVL.pdf?_ga=2.144817012.1739722422.1553993203-1649445430.1553768387 The memory I have has this part number. CMK16GX4M2A2400C14 It's not compatible is it?
  21. I also checked the Ram and it is seated fine, I read somewhere that defective ram can short the PSU, but it can't be that because all my fans and leds are running. I am a little concerned that I hear no beeps from the mobo.
  22. Yeah I know, I have my HDMI cable connected the onboard hdmi first of all as instructed by @K1ng My onboard LEDs are showing Green for the BOOT_DEVICE_LED - the other 3, CPU_LED, DRAM_LED and VGA_LED flash their colours Red, Yellow and then White, then they go off and the BOOT_DEVICE_LED light remains green. A quick search tells me that its unable to find an OS, which would be right, so I guess this is nothing to be concerned with at the moment.
  23. Ok, well the ram is definitely compatible because I checked - when you say seating, I'm assuming you mean plugged into the mobo? On the board I have 2 8mb ram modules installed in the 2nd and 4th slots. I unplugged the power from the gfx card rather than take the whole card off the mobo, should i do that? Would it help to upload a picture of my mobo as it currently stands?
