  1. When I turned on My PC today I received this error Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer. Clicking okay just restarts the computer. When I receive the error I can press shift + f10 to access the cmd window. I have no mouse control. I can also access my BIOs I have attempted these steps to fix it. https://www.easeus.com/backup-recovery/windows-could-not-complete-the-installation.html Fix 1: Automatic Repair: Error continued same Fix 2: Shift + F10: Error Continued same https://troubleshooter.xyz/wiki/fix-windows-could-not-complete-the-installation/ Method 1: Enable Administrator Account: Error continued same Method 2: Start Account Creation Wizard: When accessing msoobe it just sat at a blank blue screen and would not continue. (waited 1 hour) Method 3: Change Password Requirements: Error continued same Method 4: Registry Fix: Error continued same Method 5: Disable Audit Mode: When sysprep was put into cmd window it did not recognize the command. When attempting a clean install as described here it stops on Setup is starting and never goes further (waited 2 hours). I did the steps below. "Make sure all other drives and peripherals are unplugged. Update the BIOS or UEFI firmware to latest, or reset to Defaults, making sure SATA controller is set to AHCI, UEFI is enabled, CSM disabled, Windows Boot Manager set first to boot" All are set in the BIOs https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install/clean-install-windows-10/1c426bdf-79b1-4d42-be93-17378d93e587 SFC /scannow SFC Fails with in cmd: "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios." DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /restorehealth. DISM Failed with error 1753 There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper
  2. It does say it executes but nothing happens after that. No changes. DiskPart succeeded in cleaning the disk.
  3. When right clicking on the disk management screen the selection to intialize disk is greyed out. I cannot Select it. Edit: I apologize for the long delay Work and School have been crazy. I have tried this the diskpart says Disk 3 (the bad disk) 0 Size 0 Free bytes. and GPT has no * next to it. This is the error created in system logs in the spoilder below.
  4. The data on the drive does not matter it was all backed up prior. What software would you suggest? I just want the drive to be functional again. Also when I right click in the grey area Initialize disk is grayed out and cannot be selected.
  5. Maybe someone can help me because I am now at a loss as of what to do. Last week I lost power to my house while transferring files to a HDD. The hard drive now does not show up in My Computer(This PC). It shows up as functional in motherboard BIOS and device manager. It is labeled as Unknown Device but claims to be working properly, The volumes tab is blank. Disk Management(see attached photo) is just blank. I cannot Initialize the disk as it says their is not enough memory. 3rd party software does not even recognize the disk. Edit: Forgot to mention I plugged the HDD into a new PC and new BUS(is this the correct term for where the SATA's connect?) and the issue persisted.
  6. All I was trying to do was save some people some of their time so they wouldn't have to repeat the same steps as me. If that is their issue.
  7. I copy and pasted it from the windows forums the original I wrote. I dont even understand the logic of being labelled a spammer for having 1 post and using copy and paste for what it was intended to do. What am I suppose to retype the entirety of my original post? Posting twice in two different forums I dont think represents spamming. I am just trying to help some people out and give back to a community I take info from all the time without contributing.
  8. This post is designed to help people out that are installing windows 10 on a new machine or re installing windows. Maybe my pain blood and sweat and mostly tears well help someone else out as I troubleshooted various problems with windows installer and windows 1607. Before doing this make sure all your data is backed up! *First off if you have more than one hard drive and are attempting to install or update windows this causes major issues. You must disconnect all other hard drives besides the with the windows OS on it (or where you plan on installing it). Windows 10 update and installer do not play nice with more than one hard drive. Yes this applies to all updates. I found when if i cleaned out any additional hard drives that was plugged in during windows install or update it would cause windows to become unusable. *To install windows on the one hard drive (or ssd) I had to convert it to GPT through CMD during installer. Before doing this make sure all your data is backed up! If it is possible. During the Disk Management phase of a custom install. Press Shift + F10 this opens a command prompt. (each period is a new CMD line) Type diskpart. Type list disk. Type select disk (disk number no () around number ). Type clean. Type convert GPT. Finally type exit. Proceed through the install as your normally would. *To get windows to update to 1607 I had to keep the same practices in line, no other software or hard drives hooked up. If I installed anything else (besides drivers) before running windows update it would cause windows to crash after updating. The same thing applies to having any other hard drives attached. So after the fresh install I downloaded my ethernet drives onto a USB with my laptop and installed them that way to gain access to the internet. And rand windows update till it was done. *After updating to windows 1607 I have had some issues with programs including MBAM having no tray icon but running. Programs not initialising on startup even though they are enabled to do so (and not blocked in any program). These programs can be manually started and function fully. Startup Manager labelling programs as PROGRAM and not the name. ASUS AI Suite III and ASUS GPU II tweak also dont play well with the new version of windows. (This may be the newest Nvidia Drivers as I gathered from research). *I have windows update blocked until further notice until I can do more experimenting and see if further updating well cause poor stability. Good luck to you.
