I idle at 25-32 c Cinebench r20 temps max out to the 70-78 [Score of 4902] and Multi core enhancement is on. No other settings on other than xmp. I'm using the corsair 150i Pro with arctic silver. However in Prime95 using the Small FFT s tests [Max power] I get 87-98 c on the cores. I was wondering if this specific test is known for taking these chips to their thermal limits, as afterall its such a unrealistic load. I'm just curious if this is normal or not.

I use a HDMI tv that has a resolution of 1360x768. In the desktop, everything is properly scaled, and looks crisp. However, when I open anything that requires fullscreen, it decides to overscan the game. Even though i'm in the right resolution. The picture is zoomed in and very blurry. The only solution is fullscreen windowed. Some people online said the disable scanning/enable overscan on the TV settings, however, my HMDI Tv dose not have those settings. I've been battling this issue for weeks now. I will add a few screenshots of my driver settings. I have tried messing around with these settings to no avail. But when I enable GPUScaling the desktop also overscans. I just dont understand why it would only overscan when in fullscreen but not in desktop.. This is annoying and thanks in advance to anyone that decided to help me out. If you need any more info please say so, as i'm trying to fix this asap. Hello everyone, i'm here with an issue that iv'e been dealing with for a bit. In the past you guys have helped a metric ton and I hope that will be the case here too.The situation: I recently purchased: Don't flame me for the dated components, I bought them unused, in the packaging from a retailer for 20% retail, so I had to get them..Msi 970 Gaming Motherboard [am3+]Fx 8120Rx 470My issue: I did my first boot and I got no signal. I proceeded to:1: Re-seat and test my ram on another machine [It worked fine, but did not get me a post on this new build]the mobo did also do its beep stating that ram was removed when I tried booting w/o ram.2: Make sure my CPU was seated correctly3: Clear the CMOS4: Make sure my PSU was fine. [Booted 3 other machines up no issue]5: Make sure my GPU was fine [ Again, it worked as expected in 3 other machines]6: And finally, I made sure my case wasn't shorting my MOBO out by breadboarding it onto a cardboard box. What I think is the issue: The fans, HDDS, and gpu spin up and the system stays on. I am thinking that it's because i'm attempting to do my first boot using an HDMI cable on my TV. I currently dont own a monitor and my Tv dosent have Display port nor does it have a DVI input. I have purchased a DVI to HDMI adapter to no avail. I think maybe the system is not posting visually because it's not accepting my HDMI/Digital connection. Is it possible that I must do the first boot with a VGA cable? I would have to get a DVI to VGA adapter in order for this to be possible as my video card has no VGA connection. I'm only saying this because I have heard that new MOBOS can sometimes refuse anything but plain DVI, or vga/analog connections. Thanks alot anyone that attempts to help me with my issue and I hope you guys are having a wonderful day

I'm purchasing this screen in a couple of days. But I desperately need a this machine.

My display has been damaged to the point of no return so i'm using the hdmi port on the laptop to use the laptop as my daily driver. Theres one issue though. It works fine on a fresh install of windows, but after I install stuff like Java, silverlight, or anything of the sort. The HDMI monitor shuts off. I'm thinking its a driver issue. Upon reboot I see the windows icon loading then instant black screen. I've tried hitting f8 to auto-switch to secondary monitor, but no luck. Anyone can help? The only fix is a fresh install of windows. Thanks in advance. Edit: Upon the screen going black. I hear a sound played that sounds like a usb device or something is being disconnected.

I know motherboards are all different, but what voltage do you think I should set my CPU at to underclock it to 4.0. Is 1.325 volts fine?? Anyone here deal with a 9590? I just got this chip for free and need to underclock it to fit my cooling currently. Thanks

So the clock speed is the thing thats making all that heat? So on 4.0 at 1.35 volts, I should get that thing to last upwards of 4-5 years?

So, if I just kept it at 4 Ghz on the 212. Could it last me a while? Or does the not really like being undervolted?

4 pin is located on older PSUS. From my experience, they are both exactly to same power draw from the wall. But, an 8 pin is good if you want to use that board for a while. It will let you upgrade to bigger chips without being worried about power.

I know for a fact that this chip is 100% just a overclocked 8350, and that i should go with intel. BUT, I have gotten this chip for free and all I don't have is a cooler. If I were to underclock the chip to say, 4.0 GHZ, can something like a hyper 212 evo cool this thing until I can buy a proper water cooler? Please no AMD jokes or whatever you guys do to people like me. Thanks in advance.

THe reason it's a-blaze is clearly because it's a 970 chipset board. The VRMS most likely died and just gave the cpu an assload of power.
