  1. Battery life sucked so hard on the asus gl502 with 1070, the 17" MSI similarly spec'd to my blade, wtfffff i think I'll stick to laptop for work desktop for gaming. Just doesn't seem to make sense otherwise.
  2. Agree'd - without the core the blade 14 is garbage. It's loud as fuck, it's annoying, why do you think I want to get rid of it :))) hah! for Biz, it's great, but everyone hates on the blade pro, don't get it. Thats why why I was going to offer someone the blade 14, core and a 1080ti fe for a pro.
  3. Hey y'all! So.... I tried to use a DECKED OUT razer blade and core as a desktop replacement. I built my desktop anyway thought and as a desktop replacement It works! It really does, buttttt it's just not enough power for me and I can't bring the core with me REALLY! (Could just build a mini atx tower and boom....) and it just dawned on me.. I could trade this setup for a laptop I'm more interested in! (I've got the late 2016 QHD 512gb SSD BLADE 14" i7-6700hq, etc) anything with a 1080, and a mechanical keyboard. 15-17" screen at 4k resolution. Boom. Do you think that's possible? I'm gonna check the classifieds, but I've got a blade pro sitting here I "borrowed to try" from an online company that delivers packages suPRIMEly fast if U catch my drift i cant sell it on classifieds here as I don't have enojgbt posts and in 3 days I have to return it. There may be some NON razer laptops to check out (I love ASUS and MSI)
  4. ahhhh this is so simple to do with razer mice, and frankly, an excellent function to have. instead we just get "DPI switch" as an option ad we cannot specify what DPI to "switch it to... Asus needs to step up their software and sometimes even firmware as I've now tried and tested and returned 3 ROG claymore full ASSUS keyboards. They're garbage. The mouse is fantastic just kind of sucks when you find something like this that you CANT DO
  5. I COULD just buy this: https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Ultimate-Enthusiast-Cooling-CL-W007-PL12BL/dp/B0196LP4AY/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1484534939&sr=1-1&keywords=Thermaltake%2BWater%2B3.0%2BUltimate&th=1
  6. checking! Thank you I guess the real question is: is it worth even upgrading what I've got? (cooler, PSU, case) or should I just be lazy and keep it all
  7. Well, (you can skip the intro to the first bold if you want) Thanks to this site, I've gone back to the lab several times due to NOT checking the site, and getting some spectacular help from the community. I also didn't realize the power of facebook market place! Holy CRAP everyone wants muh old system/build. I was getting the junkyard mafia 20 bucks and its a deal! offers for a long time on a certain forum that's also really good for help.... I probably deserve that because pa Anyway, I ordered a new gpu and (although I'm going to have to return it by april 29 IF nobody buys my late 2016 razer blade 14" QHD and core (my initial shot at an upgrade) When I went back to R2D2 I call my tower r2d2, because the level 10 GT by thermal take kinda looks like R2D2, especially with blue LED on and all., ANYWAY, I tired to put the following new build (and old if italicized) into my case: Here's what she's got! i7-7700k MSI Founders edition 1080ti being return to amazon for a lovely gigabyte 1080TI OC'd white card, finally, aftermarket goodies ASUS z270 MAXIMUS CODE IX MOBO 500gb Samsung 960 evo m.2 500 gb Samsung 950 evo agility 128gb for windows install ONLY 16GB 3000MHZ ddr 4 corsair white led 16gb 3000mhz ddr 4 corsair RGB (same just prettier lights). both sticks are in 8x2 here is where it gets dicey folks!! I have a level 10 GT case, it works great, but I've had it for SEVEN years, there has GOT to be a better option out by now Corsair H80 OG CPU liquid color. yes, the old one, and the radiator is on... the back?? (inside) a TX850 gold standard powersupply heres what I'm thinking of adding: thermaltake 3 fan (120x3?) liquid cooler CASE (was going TT p3, but I didn't realize HOW open it was) and the EVGA 1000w platinum cert psu
  8. yeah, that's incredibly shit branding, LOL! why did they do that? good points, thank you
  9. I almost went with a TT P3 case and a different cooling solution, but the problem is, you're talking about spending the amount I did on the build itself minus the GPU on cooling. I've survived on closed loop AIO coolers for a decade. It's a lot easier to swallow the less than 200 dollar pill than "heres a very complex system you've got to constantly maintain, have no clude how to set up, and will probably fuck up a few times and it costs more than the mobo, cpu, ram, and case you've got right now." if you're saying that doing an open loop custom cooling solution is going to grab me an FPS difference in the 40+ mark, sure, but to me open loop water cooling is just something that looks really cool and not much else
  10. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-series-hg10-n980-gpu-liquid-cooling-bracket Would this product work on an MSI 1080Ti founders edition? I am having some cooling issues with this card, and would not mind throwing my H80 on the GPU and buying the Thermaltake RIING for my CPU.
  11. 65.1% was the user bench of my i7-6700hq just now, by the way. Looks ilke the 1080 is coming out of the core and going into the desktop until i get my build parts ready anyway!
  12. ugh, i'm getting closer to finalizing the cart at microcenter, but i am having trouble selecting ram. is it better to use 2x8gb or 4x4gb? Crucial ballistix sport ram is i think the best choice so far.
  13. I found a few people who might actually be interested in buying this rig (desktop). I'd sell it for pretty much what an i7-7700k costs (not the 1080, the 780 thats in there and everything else (mobo, powersupply, case, etc) that might be the route to go! if i could get the razer core, 1080 gtx, and this rig all sold, it would be a start from scratch scenario, HOW FUN!!!! What's a reasonable price for the system i listed above, and case?
  14. that was in line with my thinking, the i5 is such a strong CPU, im amazed that 7 years later, its still relevant
  15. You're awesome, thank you for this! I did know about the SLI stuffs, as long as the GPU is the same (like, the actual GPU inside the card) it SHOULD work in theory, of course there's a lot more to it, i would NOT Have known that had i not stayed up till god knows when last night researching it. I don't even know why i'm saying this because that is super helpful information and an awesome link to share. -I DID post up the card and the razer core on craigslist last night, i'm glad you suggested this, because i really didn't know what the best way to go is/was. My gut was telling me to get a brand new 1080Ti and SLI another one later on. I read somewhere that 1080s in sli was only like 15% faster than a 1080Ti. (this was probably all using reference cards, so, not necessarily accurate to aftermarket OC'd cards) If that figure is correct though, that would mean it's almost stupid to spend a little less than a Ti on an SLI setup when i could just spend a little more and get a 1080Ti after selling my current card. I also have a 780GTX from my old setup i could use as a PhysiX card, but i don't know if thats really worth doing.... any thoughts there? If I end up running 3 GPUs though, especially older tech, id probably need to step up the Power supply... then again, i dont know because if im going all newer stuffs, they're more energy efficient and 850 could actually pull it off -I do enjoy the current case, although its MASSIVE, it's white, i love white, and its cool looking with big windows and lots of airflow! There is a deal right now on the i7-7700k where it comes with a dual fan RGB ASUS watercooled fan similar in concept to the h80 but, again, newer and DUAL FANZ, YO! - Interesting on the SSDS! I would have thought that having a dedicated SSD in one of the hot swap bays would help smooth things out, shows how much i know. I'm excited about m.2, i'm learning about some super cool stuff you can do with it.
