    .Net vs. Java

As a Java programmer and a person who runs Linux servers, I definitely prefer Java over .NET just because of the language's cross perform abilities.
  2. I'm pretty sure that Kim Dotcom is not going to be in charge of the Internet Mana party. Anyway it seems a bit xenophobic of you to say "fat German" anyway. I am not old enough to vote (I'm 16) but my understanding is that the Internet Mana party is just another small part trying to put their two cents into the way New Zealand is run, just like and other.
  3. It might be because I live in Mt Albert, but I like and respect David Shearer, not only as a politician, but as a person. Also, congratulations on 1000 posts
  4. You do have to remember that the NZ Herald's polls are only a tiny part of New Zealand's population (4.5 million or so last time I checked). Not only that, the NZ Herald is also very biased to parties right of the centre. I do not want John Key in for a third term, however David Cunliffe isn't much of a looker himself to be honest.
  5. I already have soundproof earphones, but I am buying myself a Fractal Design Define R4, however, I am planning on making a liquid loop not just for my GPU but for my CPU as well, so it's sorta pointless and expensive to make a custom loop for a CPU but not a GPU too.
  6. The real issue that I've found with my GTX 590 is the amount of noise the little fan outputs. It sounds louder than the 2 240mm fans, 3 120mm fans I've already got in my system, just by playing Far Cry 3 on Ultra.
  7. Hi, I've had my GTX 590 for quite a while now.. As soon as I was given it I started looking for a full-cover waterblock for it. However, I can't find any in New Zealand (where I live), and there's even less on ebay.. If anyone here has a spare waterblock for a GTX 590, please contact me - I'm willing to pay money. Thanks
  8. After seeing numerous 'gore' pictures of AMD CPUs being pulled out of the socket when the heatsink is removed, I wondered - why does AMD still insist on using PGA sockets instead of LGA?
  9. Considering AMD has not made any profit from their AM3+ processors, I think that it's a smart move to drop AM3+ and use FM2+ only. APUs were quite revolutionary when they first came out (having on-die GPUs that aren't completely shit), and AMD obviously wants to build on this, allowing for more enthusiast-grade processors to be ran (FM2+ doesn't mean it has to have an on-die GPU) with a more supported socket.
  10. Yes, XFX is AMD only, since about October 2010 (Fudzilla made a post here).
  11. I mostly just taught myself how to type after consulting an ancient typing guide. Just remembered where the fingers are supposed to go; now my typing is really just muscle-memory, last time I tested myself I got around 120wpm.
  12. Ctrl+F5 refreshes the page from the server, not your locally stored cache.
  13. It depends what GTX 750 Ti you're considering getting. The reference card does not need more than the 75W provided by the PCI-E rail, while the gruntier cards (for example the ASUS dual fan model has a 6-pin connector). So if you are getting the lower-powered model, yes it will work. If you are getting a higher-powered model, you may want to do more research before committing to a purchase.
  14. I may or may not PM you when I have the money. This computer's not extremely high priority as I have until December to prepare.
  15. Ivy Bridge is starting to get old anyway. I've wanted to upgrade for some time.
