  1. I have an X399 Zenith Extreme currently using the DIMM.2 slot with dual 2TB Samsung 970 EVO's in RAID 0, which for more than 3 years has been enough, but for new projects I am looking to expand the storage size but this is not possible using DIMM.2 slot I'm running a Threadripper 2 2950X with 64gb Corsair RAM and a single RTX 2080 Ti There are spare x16 PCIe Gen 3 slots so a PCIe AIC would be the preferred option, the spare PCIe lanes would be beneficial towards this also, so I'm looking at options for 8TB storage in RAID 0 The Asus Hyper M.2 x16 card V2 is compatible with PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 so this would seem the ideal card or are there alternatives? thanks
  2. Both m.2 slots are being used, 1 for Windows and 1 for Ubuntu I'll check out the 5Gbe USB version The OWC 10Gbe Thunderbolt 3 would have been ideal, buy sadly no TB3 port on the board
  3. I have an Asus WS x299 Sage board with dual RTX 3090s and a hardware RAID card in RAID 10 so it can be read/written to in Windows and Ubuntu so there are no free PCIe slots So I'm looking for an external 10Gbe which can be run from the USB 3.1 Gen 2 slot (either Type A or Type C) Is there such as device?
  4. As I mentioned in my first post, changing the power plan does reset the usage to 100% but every time I restart the PC its at 100% again The applications I run are power hungry so no I do not intend to lower the CPU usage
  5. I get 100% usage when nothing is running, literally after the computer boots into Windows No the fans do not increase in speed or noise
  6. It remains constant at 100% until I default the power plan
  7. Task Manager itself say's it is using 100%, the machine itself has an i9-7900X which is used for heavy image processing and analysis so I would prefer not to limit its usage
  8. I have an issue with Windows 10 x64 build 1803 (17134.472) in that every time I restart the PC the CPU is at 100% so every time I have to reset the power plan to default and within 5 seconds its back to 1% I've tried changing the power plan to high performance and while it saves the settings once again when I restart the CPU is at 100%, I've tried the following: creating a custom power plan running a cmd prompt and typing powercfg -restoredefaultschemes Any other ideas apart from a clean install?
  9. The XMP option only has Profile 1 and disable, so I left it on disable and tried setting the frequency manually in stages 3400mhz seems to be stable 3467mhz booted but I got BSOD after POST 3600mhz I got the BD error code But thanks for the suggestion
  10. I have the following parts Asus WS X299 Sage /10g (0402 bios) i9 7900X Corsair Vengeance 64gb DDR4 3600mhz (4x 16gb) Corsair AX860 The memory is populated in A1/B1/C1/D1, every time I enable XMP profile in the BIOS and reset I get a bd error code and no signal from the monitor which would indicate an issue with the CPU talking to the memory If I reset the machine I do get a signal but get a warning at POST saying "the system has posted in SAFE mode", I can then go back into the BIOS, if exit and restart I get the bd error code again with no signal The only way I can get it stable is to disable XMP profile and run the memory at 2133mhz Any ideas why?
  11. You think a 650w will be enough to power this, I strongly doubt it!
  12. I have these parts already 2x Titan X (Maxwell) Asus X99-E WS/USB3.1 i7 6900K I'm looking for a case, PSU, CPU Fan and 64gb Memory It will be used for data processing and mass calculations, this is the website http://www.cryoem.se/a-high-end-quad-gpu-workstation/ They recommend the Corsair Carbide Air 540 which looks like it fits E-ATX motherboards, I'm leaning towards corsair vengeance LPX 2133mhz and a Noctua NH-14S or NH-D14 They also recommend Corsair AX1500i or HX1200i Can anyone recommend suitable alternatives?
