thenastyjbenny got a reaction from Radium_Angel in Off Topic Chit Chat
Posting here after the hack on the accounts (the second one). Brought me back to remembering my forum days and I realized I haven't been here in like 5 years. Good to be back. Hello all!

thenastyjbenny reacted to LinusTech in Linus Tech Tips, Tech Quickie, Tech Linked channels hacked
Thanks for the concern everyone. We are still in recovery mode over here and working with YouTube to get everything restored. Will hopefully have a video (or at least an update on WAN Show) to share with you all ASAP, but we want to make sure we get the details right since smaller channels may rely on our experience to help harden their own security.

Well, if that was the case cards should be costing tens of thousands of dollars at this point because graphics cards have been getting and faster and faster for decades.

It needs to be fast as fuck. And run cool and not use that much power. What else is new?

@Prysin @rn8686 fixed it
If I had a dollar whenever I see someone complaining about fixing a post for night theme users, I'd have enough money to buy a new graphics card and an i7-7700K or a 256 GB iPhone 7+.

thenastyjbenny reacted to pipnina in Kaspersky files an antitrust lawsuit to EU and Russia against Microsoft for keeping users safe with Windows Defender
The way I see it, antitrust can be bad for both consumers and competitors. Microsoft also ended up in an antitrust lawsuit when they released Internet explorer. "WHAT, THEY'RE GIVING AWAY A WEB BROWSER... FOR FREE??.. WITH THEIR SYSTEM??" At a time when free browsers were basically nonexistent, that was a big deal and shoved Netscape under a bus, arguably unfairly.
It's a difficult decision, because in cases where antitrust is good for the consumer but utterly destructive to ALL competition simply because one company is 50x larger than the other and can afford to give away things as freebies.

thenastyjbenny reacted to Droidbot in Why aren't these forums Tor-compatible?
because when a tool for anonymity is publicly available, it can be used for malicious purposes.
think about it - if you were a spammer, you could use the IPs of many, many exit nodes to spambot forums.
deal with it. use a VPN.

thenastyjbenny got a reaction from Silent Node in A gaming chair that maybe we can afford? Thanks Corsair!
So, gaming and high quality chairs are VERY expensive. More than half a grand in most cases. After a quick search on the forum, I couldn't find another topic on this, so I figured I'd bring it to all your attention.
Anyway, recently (not sure of the exact date) Corsair released a gaming (racing style) chair for an MSRP of 349.99. (at least in the US)
Here's what Corsair has to say about it:
It looks like a solid option for those of us looking for this style of chair at a pretty crazy price. The question is whether or not Corsair had to really cut some corners on the design and/or quality to make this chair available at this price point. Opinions, anyone?

Gamer's Nexus added some information in an article on their website, if anyone wants to check that out. Cheers.

thenastyjbenny reacted to DarkBlade2117 in A gaming chair that maybe we can afford? Thanks Corsair!
People say this all the time... the difference look past "gaming" in these names. The chair themslves are very high quality, whether it be DXRacer, Maxnomic ect. There are other brands that are cheaper as well lik GT Omega Racing or Tesorro and ya, you're spending $200-$300 on a chair but you're ass is sitting on it the entire time you use your PC. I'd rather it not be some shit chair that'll fall apart in 6-12 months.
