What about the quality of the phase design? Here is a quote from Tom's hardware:
"Power phases are widely advertised as increasing the ability to OC by providing clean steady power, and many love to claim the more the better - now then that can be true, but the real problem with that thinking is that people just accept it as fact, when in truth it all depends on how well the power phase design is implemented and in many cases it's not done all that well.....If it was true the more the better then all you would see is is power phase designs like GB introduced in some of their 1156 mobos (24 phase) back in 2009 - problem was, they didn't OC for c***. So just because a mobo has 12 or 16 or whatever power phases, it 'MIGHT' mean something, but not necessarily...."
