  1. The storage will be used primarily for storing games, music, and videos. I will probably play around with different filesystems and raid configurations to see what works best for me once I get the drives.

  3. This all depends on your internet speed and the type of modem you have. Check the model of your modem to see if it is DOCSIS 2 or DOCSIS 3. If you are still on DOCSIS 2 then I would recommend you upgrade it. If you have DOCSIS 3 then you should be fine with your current modem.
  4. I wanted to be able to use raid 5 or raid 10, so I can get much faster read speeds while still having redundancy. I will be putting the drives in an external enclosure and running them into a VM on my existing server.
  5. I'm looking for more options for setting up RAID, so I wanted to go with 4 drives.
  6. I am considering building a server/NAS sort of thing but I'm on a tight budget. I am looking to use 4x2TB hard drives, but I don't know which kind to get. WD has Desktop drives for $60, Surveillance drives for $74, and NAS hard drives for close to $90. All of the data will be backed up, obviously. Which drive would be the best for my scenario?
  7. I am assuming that you have turned VSync on. Turning it off will give you a much higher framerate, but it may not play as smooth. I would also say that you should use optifine, as that can greatly increase your FPS.
