It's been pretty clear for quite a while from things Linus has said that he really wants CSF to be a "success" in terms of profitable subscriber/viewership and not just a channel to throw random shit up and who cares how it does. The thinking is probably that it would be good to diversify their audience beyond just tech nerds... they just never found a workable strategy for making that happen before.

The "classic" era CSF videos (and even some from after they tried to bring the channel back) were probably pretty unsustainable from a production standpoint because they required using large groups of LMG employees for like an entire day, which has negative repercussions for the other work those people are supposed to be doing.

I'm more curious about who edited today's short video. The video just stops half way through a sentence at the end. Did nobody watch the video before uploading it? I guess this is just a problem with them filming videos as normal videos and then hacking them to pieces trying to get a Shorts video out of it to game the Youtube system. I don't like Shorts, but if you're going to do them at least put some effort in to it and try to have some pride in what you produce.

Not bad suggestions in my opinion.
LTT occasionally posts behind the scenes videos as exclusives to Floatplane, their paid video service, so for that reason they might not want to do behind the scenes videos on Channel Super Fun.
Game nights/board games are something they used to do on CSF, though I don't think those videos performed as well compared to other CSF videos back in the Nicky V era. I think it's hard to make an exciting shouty editing style video of a group of people playing board games. I think that sort of content would probably be better suited for a 2 hour live stream, which they would likely do on the LTT twitch channel & Floatplane instead of Channel Super Fun (I don't think they've ever streamed on CSF).

One thing to keep in mind is that Channel Super Fun stopped uploading videos in 2018 and didn't upload again until 2020, which would definitely result in a stagnation of view count during that period. Also the few videos they did do in 2020 weren't particularly great either, who remembers the "We donate toilet paper to charity" video? Of course there's going to be a spike in view counts when they actually start uploading videos again. For the "golden era" of Channel Super Fun videos you would need to look at 2014-2018 when they were uploading at a regular basis and Nicky V was involved, but that was also when they were growing the channel so it's still hard to compare to now.

Channel Super Fun in its current revision also has a huge helping hand in the form of Shorts, which actually seems to favour the more stupid/prank/pointless video content. The CSF Short video "He got a big surprise" (which for some reason doesn't show up on the channels uploads page despite other Shorts videos showing up there) has over 20 million views currently making it the 2nd most popular video across all LMG channels only just behind the LTT Wish.com PC build with 21M views, though it wouldn't surprise me if the CSF Short overtakes it soon. It's hard to compare view counts from current CSF to old CSF since old CSF didn't have the benefit of Shorts to give them astronomical view counts. It's really difficult to say that current CSF is better than old CSF just by looking at view count. Who knows what CSF's view count would have been like if they had feature like #Shorts back in the day.

I'm not sure what metric you would really use to accurately gauge the difference between old and new CSF. It's also important to not look back at the old CSF videos with rose tinted glasses. You probably remember the good videos more because they were videos that you enjoyed, you likely don't remember the mediocre videos you watched 5 years ago because they didn't leave an impression on you. There were some absolute classics back in the day and some fun series like Nerd Sports, but some of the videos from that era weren't that interesting or the style of content that I like to watch either, and some videos just simply performed poorly on Youtube.

I didn't mind the recent Channel Super Fun video about earning the most money, but that was carried heavily by Sarah and David who both have great personalities on camera that I think also suits the CSF content style. Same with the game where they had to run around the warehouse to find keys to unlock cases with rewards/punishments where the other LMG staff made the video entertaining to watch, I think that video had an interesting concept for a game.

Ranking the recent CSF videos (not including Shorts since they've more or less all been awful):
Who can make the most money in 1 day - Good, carried by Sarah & David. Ethan was annoying. Decent premise for CSF video, would like to see more videos like this.
Find the key I hid - Good, carried by the other LMG staff. Decent premise for CSF videos, would like to see more videos like this.
Mario Kart in Real life - Disappointing. Too complicated, messy. Expected a video with the team racing go karts would be more enjoyable.
Secretly living inside my Boss's house for a day - Not the style of video that I find interesting. Other people might find it interesting. Ethan was annoying to watch.
I have to do what it says - Boring, went on for way too long and didn't go anywhere. This worked much better when it was filmed as a 60 second short instead with less tasks and only a few seconds spent on each task. On that note, this video is exactly the same idea as the "He got a big surprise" Shorts video uploaded 8 months prior to this video. You already did this video, right down to Colton finding the same notes... I'm not sure why it was made again 8 months later.
The floor is lava with robots - Awful. Stupid premise, executed poorly. Video was produced as if it was intended to be watched by 6 year olds but was advertising a product only 40 year olds would be interested in.
I tried to win a free vacation - Awful. Stupid premise, executed poorly. Ethan was annoying to watch throughout the entire video.
    I got a fake tattoo - Cringe.

    Dishonorable mentions:
The recent #Short with the awful clickbait title "She knows!!".
The CSF #Short where Ethan put rubber bands around a milk bottle and walked around the office asking if people wanted milk, which was mercifully privated from Youtube.

Really just shows that CSF requires more oversight & standards over what gets uploaded to the channel as that should never have been approved. Would also help with issues like in today's video where it cuts off half way through a sentence which could have very easily been fixed in editing prior to uploading if anybody bothered to review it before going live.

My advice for LMG regarding Channel Super Fun:
If you're going to make shorts; make shorts. Don't hack up longer videos with a sledgehammer to force them to fit Youtube's requirements for Shorts. The style of videos for CSF could work well with content made specifically for #Shorts and that shows with the "He got a big surprise" video which appears to have been originally filmed as a #short not hacked up from a full video. You have people who are actually enjoyable to watch, use them. In my opinion Ethan is not one of those people. Maybe he will be better suited behind the scenes writing & organising the videos for others to participate in. If a video performs poorly shortly after upload stop desperately changing the title and thumbnail 5 or 6 times trying to find something clickbaity enough to save it. It reeks of desperation. It's probably performing poorly because it's a bad video. Learn from it and do better next time.

Several of the newer videos just feel like rehashes of old youtube videos people like MrBeast did 5 years ago.  Without somebody interesting like Nicky V or Madison I don't find them as engaging as they could be.  But I'm an old man and not the target market.

Yeah, I saw that picture. I meant that its connected to different things. A COM port is just a serial communication port that can be used for various purposes. This one that you pictured is for connecting to external devices like USB, its an older standard that isn't really used now but was in before USB came out,
What I meant by that being COM is like what Spotty said about it being an internal communication with maybe the bios chip.
Essentially, you're not going to be touching that since its moreso for ASRock employees to test/fix the motherboard(probably, not sure).

I'd put my money on that being the case. Looks like a COM port to me too. Though the lack of a label is confusing. Probably just for internal use.

Exactly, OP can just go with a R5 1500 (or an R3), and use the rest to buy 4x (insert graphics card here {RX580 etc., should be a high price per performance card.} ).

I got it to work...28 hours later....turns out I HAD to use a single stick of RAM in the opposite slot that the motherboard said, AND drop my RD 580 to the second PCIE slot at the same time just to boot....ridiculous...but after original boot, I moved RAM back, added more and moved GPU back to top slot and still worked just fine....just that first boot was REALLY weird...like backwards weird....thanks for all the input everyone....if your doing a Ryzen 5 build especially with 5xx series graphics, keep an open mind out for weirdness.
