  1. I just got a replacement, but it seems to have a lack of an actual chip, or the new systems are much more complicated. Attached is a picture of it, quite some bigger than normal and it's much lower than a typical chip is set into the surface of the material

  3. Hi! I was wondering what is recommended here for a comfy mouse for pc gaming. I currently use a Logitech MX master and I love it, but I also use a cooler master mouse and its really not that great. Wired or wireless, DPI adjustment would be nice, not too heavy like the MX master, forward and backward side buttons and side scroll is very nice but not needed. any help would be great, thank you. I dont use the MX master for gaming because my pc does not have bluetooth, and I think its rather heavy for gaming but if its not and im just being a wimp, do tell me that and I'll just buy a bluetooth module.
  4. Hi! I just had a question concerning the difference of thermal conductivity between what regular thermal paste we use vs something like artic ceramic thermal paste is like. I have some I use for actual hobby electronics like my flashlights, and just wondered why we don't use this for our computers? Does the thermal conductivity suck?

  6. I have researched the type and seen all posted images of the UPS, I just wanted to know if there is an additional component for these rack mount units to have an output usable for 120vac devices. The images I found did not have this rather a bunch of 250volt outputs which are useless for a 48 port switch. Other UPS's have an additional component/unit that stacks on top giving the output receptacles I'm looking for. I switches from one main UPS to four separate units. Thanks.
  7. Hello, I have a school project and I'm a little confused on this basic part of UPS function... So we have to research a UPS, so I'm looking at one I would hypothetically use, which I found the APC 15KVA whatever to be substantial enough - it has to support a max of 12KW. I don't know where the plugs are... Where is the interface to plug components into? I'm so confused on where the plugs are LOL, I see some may have different voltage outputs and this one offers 200+ volt plugs, do typical Cisco and HP switches support this high voltage or should I use multiple smaller UPS devices to power the total of 9 switches and 5 servers?

i've kind of found my love for pc building agai…

Yeah building systems is real fun, on the side I've been into tool modifications ie knives and now I'm starting my first flashlight mod - whole new drivers and LED's
  11. Hmmm okay, interesting. I didn't really want to go soldering this as they're already installed, and they don't stick again when taken down. I think I'm at a loss of trying to get what I really wanted, but this kit on Amazon seems promising. I'm thinking maybe those wires will just clasp around the strip. That section won't have any light then but it'll still illuminate ~16 foot https://www.amazon.com/Strip-Connector-Solderless-Accessories-Provides/dp/B07RG6T1FV
  12. Hello all, I installed 48 feet of LED strips in my room, more or less, and at the time I didn't have an adapter/connector to go from the pin layout from the starting edge to the pad connection on the ending edge. I soldered it, it held but wasn't pretty. Now it doesn't work, go figure. Does anyone know of a ten MM wide strip connector that would bridge two edges that are pad connections? These are not waterproof, just thin 5050 LED strips. I want to stitch in a run of spare LED strips to fix the failed connection.
  13. Thought my server felt a little warm, and it was just warm in my room... I do have my other computers running but it's normally around 21c inside. Happened to look at my thermometer, 31c and the server was running at 81c! The fans weren't even running fast!

  14. Are these CPU's good for that? I have a 3700x and the PBO is better than manual OC's lol
  15. Thank you all very much, I'll definitely be using this!
  16. Hello all, I'm looking to get my gf a entry level PC for her birthday. It's around four months away, but I'd like to ask some questions from those who know. So the budget is a max of $400 USD, I'll sort out the peripherals on a different budget. But I'm looking at used computers, older Gen hardware but something that can play 1080p games like the Sims, minecraft and let her draw. What hardware is good for this? I'm familiar with newer GPU's but all the older models I'm sort of confused on. I've seen some computers in my area with the amd fx 6300 which I know is older, but still has six cores at 3.50ghz these sometimes come with a amd Radeon 550 also or even a 1650. I have a 1660 super and it's pretty good so I imagine the series is alright for lower resolution gaming. Are these PC's usually good to run after some clean up and new installation of windows? I plan on swapping out the PSU before I even use it because I really don't trust unknown PSU's but what should I really look for other than this? TLDR: What should I look for in an older budget PC around $400?
