IrshaadH got a reaction from Ashley MLP Fangirl in AMD to Finalize Acquisition of Xilinx for $35 Billion + Record Q3 2020 Earnings
So, I still have much to learn about stocks, but one thing is clear: their pipeline is very strong. Next-gen consoles, increased EPYC adoption, 5000 series this year and 5nm in 2021, and their re-emergence as a strong GPU competitor; there's much to look forward to.

IrshaadH reacted to Haro in New Motherboards for AMD 5000?
Yea all of these x570/b550 boards are around/under 300 CAD, and they're pretty good.
as said above though, if you plan on running your 2600x with the new board, you will be limited to x570 as b550 does not support zen +.

Ah alright, if it's under warranty you could RMA it, but if you can't..
And since i don't know your budget/ currency.
The x570 tomahawk/ x570 tuf plus are quite decent, if you couldn't find them, the x570 aorus elite is also decent.
If you're going to get a board with zen 3, the x570 tomahawk/ tuf plus/ aorus elite are good, or the b550 tomahawk or the a pro or the b550 aorus pro or the b550 strix f are decent, but if you plan on running a 2600x with a new board first, the x570 tomahawk/tuf/ aorus elite are decent.

correct, no new chipsets for 5000 series.

IrshaadH got a reaction from Spotty in Microsoft pledges to live up to 10 principles, "to promote choice, fairness and innovation" with its app store
If only they could also make the MS store worth using from the technical standpoint. It is an absolute nightmare to download games off of it.

i do wish that the 5600x would have 8 cores. but it probably will not sadly.. but ill be going with the 5700x for sure if its reasonably priced!
would be a huuuuuge upgrade over my old 2600x.

IrshaadH got a reaction from BiG StroOnZ in Ergonomic RGB vomit
Made a few improvements to my setup this summer: both necessary and completely vain:
1) bought a Herman Miller Embody because WFH on my old DXRacer was killing my back;
2) replaced my Dark Rock Pro 4 with the new EK-AIO 360mm;
3) splurged on 32GB of Trident Z Royal Silver.
I'm not the best at taking pics, but enjoy!

IrshaadH got a reaction from Results45 in RDNA2 VRAM Leaks: Go buy AMD cards if you want more than 10GB.
If AMD somehow manages to implement ray-tracing without the 30-40% performance hit that both Turing and Ampere experience, it will be an definite upgrade for me. IMO, that's how AMD wins, even if they're not able to approach the raw performance of the 3080 in non-RT games.

For real, the fact that y'all figured this out 3 months ago based on a couple of leaked pics is astonishing.

Love the case, what is it? The rgb does not look like puke, it looks great! I bet the ram looks amazing irl...would never "turn it off". Well done!

IrshaadH got a reaction from Ex0rc1st in Will the cooler fit in the case?
It should fit. I had mine in an O11 XL, which only has clearance of about 167mm. It was tight, but it fit.
In terms of decent, inexpensive AIOs, the Arctic Liquid Freezer II is good if you can find it. If you want RGB, I've also heard good things about the Deepcool Castle EX series.

IrshaadH got a reaction from zeusthemoose in CPU temps suddenly high
Start simple
- dust out the stock cooler and rest of the case and make sure the fan plug is seated properly;
- if that doesn't improve things, inspect the fan to ensure it's spinning properly;
- if it is, check the fan curve in your BIOS in case you have it set to some sort of silent mode where the fan speed doesn't ramp up unless really hot;
- if all is normal on that front, replace the stock thermal paste, perhaps it went bad;
- if no improvement after all that effort, invest in a better cooler.
