  1. Budget (including currency): Not entirely sure, I don't really want to spend the money on the Kioxia CM6 or Seagate Nytro drives but I definitely need something faster than SATA so let's say $3k and go from there. Let me know if I've over shot it or if I need to up the budget. Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Fast edit server for professional Photo/Video editors. Will serve 2 workstations right away with a 3rd likely being added. Other details: I'm currently building out our new office set up and the only thing I'm stuck on is our fast edit server. The idea is to have a 10-15ish TB 10gbe fast edit server that serves as a working drive for at least 2-3 full time photo editors. Our current NAS set up (QNAP TVS-X73e) is outdated and nearly impossible to work off of if more than one person is accessing it so if someone could point us in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it! At this point I'm in a bit of a "I don't know what I don't know" kind of situation so if I'm leaving anything out please let me know! Thanks ahead of time!
  2. @ImAlsoRan @Escapenz Thanks! Really appreciate it. Pretty happy to find that they sell for sub $200. Any insight into the set up process? I've never used anything like that.
  3. Budget (including currency): Around $500 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I'll be running a single 10-15 person minecraft server and then direct playing 4k video through Plex. There might be a small a mount of transcoding 1080 video, but that is a reasonably rare occurence. Other details I won't need any peripherals but ideally I'd like to boot from an SSD and have at least 5tb of storage with the option later to put that storage into a RAID 1 configuration. Also, I plan to put this in my rack so ideally I'd like this to fit in a 2u space, but if it needs to be bigger it's not a huge problem. Thanks guys! Let me know if you need any more info. I'm happy to provide anything you need.
  4. So I want to build my girlfriend a computer for Christmas using an existing gtx 980 that I have from my old workstation. My only experience building a PC was for my current workstation and that was more an exercise in what's the best I can get without going crazy, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'd really only like to spend between 6 or 7 hundred dollars but there's a bit of wiggle room on top of that if need be. She'll be gaming at 1080/1440, (she plays TF2 which is a pretty light game, but we're also going to play Battlefield 1 together) and then she'll be doing heavy photo editing in Capture One Pro and Photoshop. I'm new to this whole thing so if you need any more information I'll be happy to supply it. Thanks ahead of time! Nick
