  1. Hm, alright. I may or may not give it a shot when I get things set up. From what I've been told, there doesn't seem to be any conflict issues that are created when you load a back-up image. Spending the extra hour isn't terrible if it means a more secure set-up, though. And yes, MS did say they could help me reactivate it on the new machine. Hopefully that holds true in the end. Thanks for the feedback!
  2. Thanks for the reply. I plan on definitely doing a clean install! I am just questioning the possibility of loading the back-up image after the fact. Maybe it's not possible to do so without interference? I have an OEM version of win10, which I've read doesn't transfer, but I talked with an MS technician whom told me if I called in when trying to re-activate the same license, they'd be able to deactivate the old one so I can use it on my new mobo. Maybe I'm making no sense. Hah.
  3. I've recently found myself in a position where I'll be replacing my current motherboard. I was wondering if after I perform a clean installation of win10, that I'd be able to reliably load my back-up image I'd saved prior to replacing the same motherboard? It'd be nice to know if this would cause any driver conflict, or if this is perfectly feasible. There would be no plan to update the machine once windows is re-activated/installed, but to go straight into the image back-up. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    PSU Noise

Would just like to bump this thread and update that strange sounds have returned. They aren't loud enough to be picked up by a mic, though, and the power LED to my PC has been flickering. Is this normal, or should I really consider RMA while I'm still under warranty? Any input would be appreciated. EDIT: I'd also like to add the LED only seems to really flicker/blink when I open processes like Photoshop and play games. I went to go check my power connectors, one was not connected entirely, and even then it is still doing this. Thanks! :]

    PSU Noise

Certainly! Please excuse my fumbling with the phone. I have just plugged everything back in and started it up, there's no apparent noise now whatsoever. At least not that I'm aware of. If the clicking were only momentary, what could it have been? Edit: I am aware that it may just be paranoia. Heh.

    PSU Noise

Hi, all! I recently finished putting together my first build, and got my PC finally set up. The morning after the initial installation, I turn it on (maybe it's third boot), and heard some intermittent clicking coming from the PSU that I had not heard prior. It was not very loud – almost unnoticeable. I eventually powered off the PC and turned it back on again to find the noise had stopped. There is still some very slight noise come from it, but I'm assuming that is just the machine working as it's impossible for it to be completely silent. Is this a cause for concern? Should I RMA, or am I being overly paranoid? Model: EVGA SuperNova G2 550W Mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty H170 I still know very little when it comes to PC's and would just like to know if my concern is justified. There are no other problems with PC performance. Games/software run fine, temps are healthy, and there are no signs of any electrical interference/heat. Also, I'd like to add that every time I turn the PC on/off there is a click that comes from the PSU, but I have read that is normal for the most part. Any help would be appreciated in the way of tests I can run before turning it in! Was quite nerve wracking setting up all the cables, and I'd like to know whether or not it'd be worth the trouble going through the who process of sending it back. Thanks.
