  1. no, I did not boot from it and yes it is still disk 1
  2. I pulled an old 1tb disk out of my old laptop and I have already taken all of the important stuff off of it. I got to the windows disk management page but I don't have the option to reformat the disk. Also, there are other partitions besides the primary that I don't need anymore because it is no longer an os drive but they can't seem to be worked with at all. The Disk 1 is the one imm trying to wipe.
  3. UPDATE: I fixed the issue with my Video file but I also need to reformat a drive. I pulled it out of my old laptop and I have already taken all of the important stuff off of it. I got to the windows disk management page but I don't have the option to reformat the disk. Also, there are other partitions besides the primary that I don't need anymore because it is no longer an os drive but they can't seem to be worked with at all. 4. I wanted to get my video file off of my SSD boot drive and onto my 1tb storage disk because I was recording a lot and it was filling up my SSD. So after some looking, I found out you can change the location that the default windows video file saves to using the properties. so since my B; drive is unorganised I just set the video file to be B: assuming it would make a file in there but instead it made the B: Partition into the video file and it scattered all of my video files within. I tried to restore to default location but how do I fix this and afterwards how do I correctly move the default location of my video file to my B: drive
  5. Ya i know but it also deleted some of the other ones as well. Regardless when reinstalling drivers it usually automatically uninstalls the old ones. I found a work around by logging in to the wifi on my windows log in screen which seams to have a working wifi list which makes me think that drivers are not the issue. My primary issue is the windows search bar which does not load when I type anything into it. The wifi is still a problem.
  6. no that didn't fix it. I did ddu then reinstalled all drivers and it didn't help
  7. I should. ill check. whats it look like in the device manager.
  8. The name says it all. I recently reinstalled windows on my school notebook and was surprised that i couldn't log onto the wifi because I could not see any of the networks on the network list. I have had this issue in the past and fixed it somehow with command prompt. could someone give me the command to fix the issue using command prompt. Also I noticed that the start menu search bar is stuck loading which is a returning issue as well. Thanks
  9. I used Recuva to fix the problem for free. Thanks for the help.
  10. Ya imm not able to pay for the recovery rn, especially not for such a small recovery. Imm trying the Recuva program rn. Thanks for the advice so far.
  11. how does the trial work? i need to recover about 5 gigs of data and I dont want to pay atm
  12. Ya I already got that part down... Ima try the trial. its actually pretty cool so far. its scanned all of the missing files off of the card.
  13. I was checking out my old cannon camera for the first time in a while and while trying to figure out what resolution it shot in i came across the storage. It said it had 5/7 gigs used on the sd card and be being stupid me hit the reassuring looking ok button. apparently that made the camera delete everything on the card. I was wondering if there was any way to recover the data on the sd card. I know how "deleting" things actually works so I thought there might be a software somewhere. Its not realty a huge deal because we haven't even looked at the old pictures for over a year but it would be cool if we could fix it. Thanks.
  14. ya at that point I might as well sell my I5 and get an I7. I was looking for somthing quick for a easy boost but thats a bit much to ask for,
  15. Just built my computer a little while ago with a 6600k and a 1070. I defiantly think i have balanced the build quite well however I have noticed my cpu suffering under the wrath of arma 3. Being the peice of crap to hardware it is i didnt need to do any searching to know that the op physics of arma were a little to much for the system and were leaving my gpu basking on the shores of Hawaii while my cpu was burning in hell. I want to find out if there is any way to improve my arma 3 performance a bit. I have tried programs like razor cortex and whatever nvidia has to close background tasks which helps. I have an oc on my cpu of about 4.7 ghz and imm sitting around 1.3 volts. My issue comes about playing king of the hill. A bit of lag is expected but i am sometimes dropping to 25 fps. Its hard to say what my average is though because it veries constantly. In the wilderness i can get 100, if I have a high render distance on I can get 30-60, and in the city it can bork to 25. I can get used to anything over 30 cause i can accept that arma is broken. I know that steady 144 hz on arma is more than I can ask for so I am kinda just looking for better stability when I am in a setting with alot of action. I often play 110 person servers and the city can be an issue for lag. Is there anything else I can do to help out my frames. I am thinking of getting a 6700k at some point but for now I am stuck with what i have. All ideas are welcome.
  16. So i have about 50 Canadian in my ethereum wallet and I thought I would try to get some new games. I saw that for something like 30 dollars I can get an origin pass for a year and get bf1 and bf4 with it. I was hopeful because i know that steam accepts bitcoin (i turn my eth to btc cause no one takes eth) but origin only takes credit and paypal. I want to find a way to get the ethereum to paypall so that I can pay on origin without a credit card (because I dont have 1). Idk if this is possible but there should be a way. I am open to transferring to a different currency if it means i can get it onto paypal. thanks.
  17. I have not done any looking around but I have a strix 1070 and I would definitely recommend the 1060 model. My temps never pass 60 on load and it's whisper silent. Fans almost never turn on cause they done teed to with the huge heat sink. Clock speeds are great across 1060, 1070,1080, and 1080ti models out of the box and oc is very easy. It is on the upper end for 1060 prices but it is definable worth it (meaning there is an actual fps increase over fe cards).
  18. I agree. Buy a 212 or even if in a real crunch get a hyper t2 or t4. Imm surprised you didn't invest in a good cooler considering the nature of your build *1080ti*. Shuoild you have more money to invest you should look at an AIO or a larger noctua cooler (you can NEVER go wrong with noctua). For water cooling I have and I would suggest the h100i.
  19. Sry to hijack this thread but what is the ultimate pourpose of having another Ethernet port. I know that multiple are used in networking and servers but why exactly would you need one.
  20. If nothing is fixed, have TM sort tasks in order of usage and end the tasks that are maxing you out. That or send a screenshot to us
