  1. Ya I relish the probably turn on under a good load but he hasn't used it much and I don't really know what games he plays. Still 60c is a higher fan curve than other cards
  2. Haven't decided on a monitor but I will probably get a 144hz monitor
  3. The strix 1060 shares a cooler with the 1070 and 1080 so it's a beefy cooler for a lighter card. My friends say that their strix 1070 fans never have to turn on. If you force the fans on with the strix 1060 your temps would probably never reach very far past the 40-50 range.
  4. Hi there. Imm probably getting my graphics card soon and I was just wondering from others experience, how well do the 1060, 1070 strix preform. Specifically in games like arma 3, csgo, and other AAA fps games. I will probably run them at 1080p and my hardware is: cpu, 6600k (overclocked 4.5 or something) mobo, asus z170-a case, master box 5 psu, corsair cs650m I would like max settings but I have been on intel i-gpu for a while so anything goes at this point.
  5. You should get afterburner to monitor heat and load
  6. Imm finishing up my computer soon and I was wondering, will 2 monitors cause a higher load than just 1. I assume not because it's the same image produced once and sent out twice. Can any one confirm this.
  7. If I have enough I might but that is questionable, Canadian dollar is crap
  8. Ya your right It's a brand new psu. Just built the whole system brand new
  9. I can't check at the moment but i know it is a corsair one. It's a 650m or something like that edit: cs650m from corsair
  10. I done my research and the RX480 has good value but I like the higher performance of the 1070.
  11. 650w. It should be fine
  12. Hi there. Imm getting paid for babysitting soon and I will finally have enough Money for my gpu. I am gaurenteed enough to buy the strix 1060 however there is a chance I could get enough for the strix 1070. If I do get enough for the 1070 should I spring for that or get the 1060 and buy a noctua cooler or something. I currently have i5 6600k, CM T2, asus z170-a. I am over clocking but I only intend to have a 1080p display. Imm considering an led controller as well if I have the money. SLI is unlikely but is a future consideration. If you look up prices I am buying local (memory express south Edmonton). Edit: I can't confirm how much I will be paid but it will be over 450 Canadian
  13. Hey there. I just finished my new PC and found myself a bit broke. So I resorted to borrowing my dads monitor. However I noticed the colours look a bit off. Is there here any shure fire way to properly calabrate the colours other than eyeballing it. Edit: this goes for my laptop to
  14. So I my old laptop has 12 gigs of ram. I racently decided to open to up to dust it off expecting to see 3x4 sticks or 3x6 but istead I saw a 4 and a 8 gig stick of different brands. I am a little confused why they would do this. My laptop is a HP envy 17 or something. Can someone please explain
  15. That is a good consideration
  16. Sorry I meant 42mm, I was thinking of something els
  17. Currently some g.skill. He heat spreader is 60+mm
  18. i5 6600k, Asus Z170-A, (2x4) 2133 ddr4
  19. Hey guys. Is it just me or does arma 3 crash way to often. I often get the D3D error device removed error and the 5fps glitch. Does anyone know the cure for either of these. I know that neither are driver issues because they are up to date. I heard that D3D is common with integrated gpu which I am using atm. I have not found much regarding the 5fps issues but I know other people have the same thing and it kind of ruins the experience.
  20. If I were you I would contact Gigabyte customer service. Laptop fans don't usually need to be replaced as far as I know
  21. Ok did you have to move up your fan at all to make it fit. I only have a 2 mm clearance to move up my fan. I read online that the hight is 34mm and I would only have 32mm total.
  22. i kind of decided against it. It's not worth the extra price to performance and I don't have much space for a decent AIO With the money I would have to spend on a larger AIO I might as well get more ram any way. Besides my ram need an upgrade.
