From the very begginings at NCIX, Linus has been churning out videos that trick people into thinking they've learned something about a product, when in fact doing so would take more effort than either they or Linus are willing to commit.
Did Steve really expect him to 'do better'?

    Cool beans.
Personally, I'd like to see some standarized tests evaluating OLED panel burn-in, maybe something like Allyn Malventano's great storage benchmarks and the idea of evaluating whether a motherboard's VRM desgin leaves performance on the table sounded really intriguing.

Linux doesn't hate you. Linux respects you. It respects you enough to give you all the rope you need to hang yourself with.
Props for doing the series though.

The momen I realized, how straightforward and powerfull the terminal can be, is one of my fondest tech-related memories.
"I'm commanding my computer to do things and it does them!".

...And when it doesn't, it returns an error message, googling which returns a stackoverflow thread with a solution for your problem 95% of the time.

If the OS tells you that a wireless link is established, it probably is. You might not be getting an IP address from the DHCP server on the WiFi router.
You can check if you have an address and a default route by running 'ipconfig' in command prompt/powershell.

Great for those situations when you want to use an open source OS, but don't want open source graphics drivers, so you run Nvidia and also don't really want an open source OS, so you run Windows in a VM.

If Linus' rant about not being able to update AirPod firmware from non-Apple devices is any indication, he cares as well.
Oh, yeah and Fortnite devs seem to care too. I know it's not cool to like Fortnite, but iOS software distribution is a monopoly and monpolies are bad, mmkay.

iOS devices don't belong to the user. Apple keeps updating them because what they're updating is their device that they're using to squeeze money out of their buyers.
Asus is (for whatever bizzare reason) updating devices that Google uses to squeeze money out of the buyers.
The worthwhile solution to this dillemma is charging for software support and/or making the device support package open source enough that other parties can do that.

If you do actually care about e-waste, like you suggested in the RTX 3060 video, why not highlight a meaningfully different phone maker by covering the Fairphone?

I'd say that the main point for getting a PC is that you're not subject to Microsoft's monopoly on software distribution and don't have to pay a monthly subscription for features that are free on the PC.
Microsoft is selling Xboxes at cost because they're in a position to squeeze more money out of you in the long run.

So using Windows 10 is like using an Android phone now. You're either running 12 different kinds of spyware, or a cut down out-of-date re-package made by an anonymous hobbyist somewhere.
You're postponing a problem, not solving it. Windows and MacOS will only ever get worse.
