  1. Trying to stuff a Threadripper chip into an LGA1151 socket? Or are you going to crack out the pliers?
  2. From the motherboard page - Supports DDR4-2133 Memory The only consideration would be clearance from the height of the RAM and an air cooler.
  3. I'm not well versed in Mac, but I believe you would need to save all information on the portable drive, as reformatting will remove all data, then open Disk Utility, then format with APFS if you're on Sierra/High Sierra (If it's even out), or if you are running an older OS, HFS+. Then move the files back to the disk, and you should be good.
  4. Looks like the the disk formating is formatted to a file system which doesn't support single files that large, look into reformatting your disk with APFS.
  5. I believe their theory is if you don't download anything from anywhere but the AppStore, you'll be fine but eh. I'd like the ability to use an antivirus.
  6. Here in the UK, many of our NHS / Police computers use Windows XP. The operating system not supported anymore. The operating system with numerous security flaws. To protect confidential data. We saw what chaos an attack can do. Just because it appears to work doesn't mean it doesn't have bigger flaws which aren't immediately visible. EDIT: I agree on the CNC point, if it works go for it, but in other circumstances, keeping with the times is important.
  7. IIRC Apple doesn't allow antivirus on the app store. An AdBlocking app for Safari may help, from macworld.co.uk: http://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/iosapps/how-block-ads-on-iphone-ipad-3627089/
  8. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-41306321 Read this a couple of days ago and was really not at all surprised.
  9. Do bear in mind that if for whatever reason you looked to upgrade to 32GB in the future, it would cost double the price as if you bought a 2x8 kit now and another at a later date.
  10. Generally speaking, most TVs have significant input lag due to image processing applied before output, but if you game casually, and don't play FPS games, that isn't much of an issue. Other than GSync, Freesync, Faster refresh rates and generally better colour accuracy, a TV may well do you just fine.
  11. Try going into device manager, find each device, and right click and update driver online.
  12. Almost anything from BeQuiet! looks sleek, but depending on your colour scheme, the black may not suit you.
  13. I'd personally make use of the M.2 Slot on that motherboard, but otherwise a solid build.
  14. You chose an unlocked CPU with an H270 Board which doesn't support overclocking? Mistake?
  15. It sounds very similar to an issue I had on a 2012 iMac. When RAM use increased, I would have unexplained crashes. A hardware diagnostics test later and I found I had a bad memory chip, which was an aftermarket chip, an after removing it, many unexplained issues appeared to be fixed. Also, your current PC is pretty damn close to my dream build, so nice build
