I'm getting well over 100fps in most titles in 1440p with my 1070 @ 1950 core clock and i5 6600k which is now at 4.7ghz. Ie. Battlefield 1, Modern Ware fare Remastered, Tomb Raider, Doom, and the Witcher 3 in all max settings no anti-aliasing. Why not look up a 1440p monitor? I personally have the Asus MG27Q. 4ms response, IPS, 1440p native, but free sync. Believe it or not, free sync panels are compatible with nvidia gpus as they are open source. The catch? They only run in two frequencies. But, it gets the job done. I got the Monitor for $400 on sale, so maybe wait for another one to come around as it's $700+ msrp? Happy shopping!

Makes me feel better about my purchase. Got it for 180 but got a mobo with it so they have a combo deal that knocks off $30.

So, I upgraded from my 8350 to a i5 6600k last month during black Friday and got the cpu for $150 new from microcenter. I am well aware that zen and Kaby Lake are right around the corner but I couldn't pass it up for the price and I wanted a 1070. So my question is since all I do is game, was it worth it for the money?

I've had this issue many of times. Try clearing your cmos. That usually fixes it for me! Happy gaming.

I'm getting over 100fps with my 1070 oced to 1650 on the core and running max settings (anti-aliasing off) with my i5 6600k @ 4.6ghz on BF1 in 1440p on my 144hz monitor.

I will take your advice since I can't do it anyway! haha
-
Well regardless, I still cannot torrent anything for whatever reason. Also, thank you for your time
-
It saved fine. Maybe my issue was fixed in reformatting, or possibly it's qtbittorrent? Let me try to torrent something.

So, downloaded the Western Digital software you mentioned and it passed. Also, the smart info. The model is WD1003FZEX
-
Not at home at the moment to get the smart info the it's approximately 6 months old. WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD10EZEX

So, after I reinstalled windows I reformatted my western digital 1tb blue drive clean in a ntfs file system. It was working fine until I attempted to torrent something. Then the drive became read only. I tried to reformat into different formats, and nothing has been working. Any recommendations? Thank you!

Thank you for that. Haha

So, I recently got new hardware for my computer and did a clean install of windows 10. (i5 6600k, 16gb ddr4 ram, gtx 1070, new ssd)I was on windows 10 prior to my upgrade and was running maplestory fine. Now, every time after I log into maple I get unplayable lag. Here's a video showing what's going on:http://youtu.be/gY2iNMefPbIEssentially, after I get in-game the cpu usage for Maplestory drops to like 0-5%.I have been working with Nexon tech support to try and fix my problem and I've reinstalled Maplestory, checked to make sure all my drivers are up to date, defaulted my bios settings, etc.Any recommendations/solutions?Things I've tried: Running in compatibility mode for every other version of windows, running in every priority mode, reinstalling through steam, reinstalling through Nexon Game Manager, running independently through the game launcher, defaulting bios settings, changing power plan options in windows, making sure all drivers are up to date through windows driver manager, disabling/uninstalling my antivirus, changing nvidia control panel settings, changing screen resolution, changing screen refresh rate, running maplestory setup.exe, changing the aspect ratio, restarting my router, changing the affinity to 1 core.Things to note: Maplestory runs on my old setup in another rig I built just fine which also has a clean install of windows. It is not a network error, it is most likely a driver error or a setting somewhere is preventing it from running smoothly.
