  1. I LOVE SNOW! I can't stand the heat, hate it. But give me cold weather any day, every day, and I am in heaven!
  2. lol if I did live near you I would take you up on that offer. I am, however, in the US. Though I have always wanted to go to Canada.
  3. LOL, I was originally going to go with the i5-6500, but since I am keeping this pc for a while and going to upgrade the gpu anyways, I decided to get the i7-6700k. My friend bought me the gpu. But I am going to upgrade it later in the future, works good though, no issues with it or anything when its on. yeah, I was told both my Gigabyte and AMD that the system should auto detect and choose it without having to disable the integrated graphics. But I did it anyways just in case. But yeah, not sure what else to try. Thank you for the reply though.
  4. I recently built my computer with the following specs: Intel Core i7-6700k 4.0 ghz Gigabyte H170M-DS3H 16GB of Corsair at 2400 mhz 240GB crucible SSD (boot drive) 1TB HDD from WD Sapphire Nitro RX460 OC GPU When I first installed the GPU, the computer wouldn't even start (maybe 1 or 2 times it did). But when it was on, it was lagging horribly, to the point that I couldn't stand it. I spoke to both Sapphire and to AMD and they said it was a defective card for which I got a replacement. When i got the replacement and installed it, the problem was the same. I then spoke to Gigabyte and they said it could be that the bios was outdated on the mobo. So they gave me instructions on how to update it, and once I did, the card worked fine. However, now I'm getting another small issue, its not that big of a deal, but I'm afraid if I don't find a solution, I will burn my computer or damage other components. The issue is that every time I try to turn on the computer (boot-up), no signal from the GPU is sent to the monitor which in turn doesn't let the computer fully turn on. The fans all run, I can hear the HDD and the fans running, but no signal to the monitor. I've set the BIOS to send the signal to the PCIe slot 1 which is where my gpu is installed. But in order for me to make it work, I need to restart my computer again after the first time, and then the signal is sent. I thought at first, that it was that the monitor was turned off when I pressed the power button on the tower, but after several days of turning on the monitor first and then the tower, it still does the same thing and wont send the signal the first time until after I restart it. I've also noticed that if the computer goes into sleep mode, and I try to wake it up. the same thing happens with no signal being sent to the monitor. I've double checked the connection to make sure, but the HDMI cable is connected to the GPU and not the mobo. Can anyone offer any help?
  5. I had a similar problem with my RX460 card. The problem was the bios, I needed to update it. Now I'm having a different issue, but after checking all connections, you should check with the MOBO manufacture and check to see if they have updated the bios.
  6. So I ended up talking to both AMD and Sapphire about the issue, and they both recommended to return it as it seemed it was defective. I guess its one of those things that do happen. I'm getting the replacement Saturday latest. Hopefully the new one wont be defective.
  7. yeah, I had turned off the monitor not unplugged it so i turned on the pc, then the monitor and it didn't like it, wouldn't boot up. i reset the pc but had the monitor on already and it worked. Also AMD responded back stating that it could be that the bios is outdated which is causing the motherboard to not detect the card correctly, which is why its lagging, However, they mentioned the rx-480 card as well in that reply so I'm not sure if its correct or not since the rx-480 just came out, but I have the 460. I emailed them back to clarify so hopefully I get a response soon. I'm not sure that the bios would make the computer lag if it was outdated. I would assume that the card wouldn't work at all instead and cause it to not send any signal at all to the monitor. But the lag seems different to me. I'm going to check the bios though, just in case. Ill let you guys know if that fixes the lag issue.
  8. I'm waiting on tech support from both AMD and Sapphire to see if its fixable. I turned on my computer when I got home from work, and it took me 2 trys to get it to boot up. Apparently it doesn't like it when the monitor is off.
  9. yup, i uninstalled everything, doubled checked in the program list and driver list as well. I downloaded the tool from AMD directly to install it fresh (not manual since there was like 3 options for that on the webpage.
  10. SLI is awesome, but its for people who do a lot of streaming, graphics work, things like that. For enthusiast, its also great because now you have 2 GPU running that give you way more power for games and movies, videos and what not, higher resolutions, even giving you a better experience when running 2+ monitors. But it is hardcore, as they say lol. I'm actually going to do that in the future for those reason i said (mainly to run more than one monitor and for graphics work and video editing). If you can afford it, and if you enjoy how much better it is with SLI, then yeah, its worth it, just sometimes companies don't make it easy to do lol.
  11. did you uninstall and reinstall the drivers as well? Make sure they are current.
  12. lol it is a bit overkill, but its for sure delivering every bit of power he needs, plus he can scale it up or upgrade without having to worry about getting another one. I have a 500 watt PSU, but kinda regretting not getting the 700 one i saw lol. Though I can still use this if I do get it to build a second computer.
  13. I would suggest to first uninstall any drivers you installed when you first installed the cards, both the first one you had on already and then the seconds one if you did in fact install other drivers for the second one(not sure). Reboot the system with the cards removed from the motherboard (not just disconnected from the PSU) and check to make sure everything is fine. Once that happens, try one card at a time and install the current drivers from the manufacturers website, if it works with the first card, then do the same with the second and see what happens. If it doesn't work with the first one and or both, then you have a motherboard problem, I highly doubt its the PSU since its a 800 watt PSU
