  1. I think I found my issue. So I originally installed Python3 using winget to help automate the process across desktops (I was using a .ps1 script to install everything). It allows me to select from: “3.11.4 64-Bit (Microsoft store)” which uses “C:/Users/$USERNAME/AppData/Local/Microsoft/WindowsApps/python3.11.exe”. When I switch it to “3.11.4 64-Bit” it uses “C:/Users/$USERNAME/AppData/Local/Programs/Python/Python311/python.exe”. It must’ve defaulted to the Microsoft store version at some point because now it’s running as expected. Thank you again! The help is greatly appreciated!
  2. Oh I didn’t know that. Thank you! I typically run Linux and started my coding journey there but this project will be used on Windows10. In VSCode there’s a play button in the top right to execute the code and that’s what I’ve been using and that tries to use the Python3.11 executable to run the project. Do you happen to know if there’s a way to change that?
  3. I have Python3 installed. Python 3.11 to be specific. I also should’ve specified that this is on a Windows10 machine.
  4. Hello all, I’m fairly new to Python and am creating a GUI project using customtkinter. I’ve been making good progress and updating the project until recently Python updated and now no longer works. I’m using VSCode to write the project. When I launch the project using <python3 app.py> I get a module not found error, even though it’s been working fine until now and not only it is installed, but I cloned the repo to the project folder as one GitHub thread said to do. If I run <python app.py> it seems to run fine and it doesn’t complain about the module not being there. Why is this, and how do I resolve this? Thanks in advance!
  5. You could try using a BIOS/MBR boot instead of UEFI/GPT for Ubuntu or Pop_OS!. I have heard of UEFI being picky at times, although I've installed Arch & Debian in both BIOS/MBR & UEFI/GPT and never really had any installation issues in that regard. I have however never installed Linux using an SD card, so maybe try a different SD card or a USB flash drive just to rule that out, as I've heard of certain flash devices causing issues.
  6. I would go in bios and see if you can turn the fan curve up for your cooler. Maybe it's running in a "quiet" mode opposed to letting it ramp up for better cooling. If you're comfortable in the bios, and with benchmarks you can also try applying an undervolt to your cpu. Fair warning, 3000 series ryzen will boot on super low voltages, but will lose performance if it doesn't have enough. Here's a link to a GamersNexus article & video about it. https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/3494-amd-ryzen-3000-undervolting-offset-override
  7. Typically I do disconnect any drives from a system before installing any OS, whether that be Windows, or *NIX based. Thank you for the link to the guide. I will have to give it a shot.
  8. About two months ago I reinstalled Windows10 (The updater was broken and I was unable to update the system despite my many efforts), and now my EFI partition is installed on the incorrect drive (It's on my linux nvme SSD). I really don't want to reinstall Windows again when I just got everything back to where I like it to be. Is it possible to use the recovery option within Windows to reinstall the base system and get it to install an EFI partition on the correct disk without having to reinstall and setup all my account, programs, etc?
  9. I'm fairly new to remote backups and have been looking at tons of vps solutions for an Unraid xfs array and a Windows 10 VM. Honestly I'm a little overwhelmed looking through all the different providers and what they offer. I only need around 200-400GB of storage (I do not need high speed SSD storage, HDD storage will do fine for this) at a reasonable price, and would absolutely love the ability to have real time backups of the files from the Windows 10 machine (this drive will get a lot more read & write activity than the xfs array will) and was wondering what some people have used and recommend. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!
  10. I have a 13” 2014 MacBook Air I purchased used. The original internal drive was dead/damaged and would only show as a few MiB of storage available. Purchased replacement OEM SSD off eBay from reputable seller. Swapped drive. Drive is not detected at all. Can run off of external drive but only Sierra and not High Sierra as I don’t have the “firmware partition” but cannot seem to remedy that either. When booted off of external drive still cannot find internal drive. What should I do to find the internal drive?
  11. I was really excited about this idea of converting them, but they already have 28 analog cameras running. To convert them to up at $80 for 2 channels or I saw a 16 channel for nearly $1,000 would cost a fortune. Are they in too deep with the cctv cameras now where they’re just screwed either way financially? I saw some pcie cards but they also only had 2-4 channels.
  12. So I’m not really sure if this belongs here but it made the most sense to me. I have a client who owns business and has a lot of analog cameras and about 30,000square feet of store to keep under surveillance. They have over 24 analog bnc cameras covering the store and it’s been doing okay for them for many many years. They are wanting to do more though but don’t want to spend money on another dvr setup as they already have 2. I told them about IP cameras and the flexibility you get with it but they don’t have a big enough budget to spend over $4,000 on everything required to set that up. They asked if it was possible to build a server for the analog cameras and I’ve never heard of that before. I did some research but wasn’t really getting any solid answers and was hoping some people here could help. Has anyone heard of or seen or even done something like this? If so I’d love to hear how it works and what is required for it.
  13. Thank you for the quick response. That is quite helpful in terms of what dac to get. However, as stated with the cats I’m concerned about the posibility of them getting hurt or damaging the tubes since they’re so young and are quite the troublemakers. I simply want a good solid state amp with enough power to drive the 6XX and produce a clean sound. Perhaps you understand the specs well enough to help me know what to look for?
  14. So I’ve been looking for a good quality pair of headphones as I’ve been using pretty much cheap earbuds most of my life and settled on the Sennheiser HD 6XX headphones (I have not purchased them yet) due to amazing reviews and price through massdrop. However, I’m fairly new to the audiophile world and am not sure what amp and dac to get to power it’s 300ohm resistance. I would prefer to stay away from a tube amp due to there being 3 cats in my house 2 of which are still kittens and prone to climbing all over me when at my computer and I don’t want them to burn themselves on the tubes or break them. Any and all help for this newbie is appreciated.
