Hopefully their products stay similar/gain in quality rather than lose some after the acquisition, if it does happen. No comments on EagleTree, though.

kingkang got a reaction from IAR117 in Shield K1 or Predator 8?
That is about the dedication of the manufacturer. Acer doesn't have a good track-record when it comes to updates, NVIDIA on the other hand does.

This is an all-in-one solution: http://www.asrockrack.com/general/productdetail.asp?Model=C2550D4I#Specifications
You can install FreeNAS and just use it that way.

kingkang reacted to Windows7ge in 1 TB HDD showing as 297Gbs
Are you sure you're looking at the correct drive? It doesn't look like the drive has any additional space on it. The only other method I know about altering drive partitions is using DISKPART. It'd also show you if their's unallocated space on the disk. If it says theirs none then the drive is either not actually 1TB or you're looking at the wrong drive.

You will always need to use some sort of motherboard to control anything, that's the entire point. They may not be to ATX specification, but you will always need one.

kingkang got a reaction from Technous285 in Dutch court rules that Apple cannot supply ‘refurbished or remanufactured’ iPads as warranty replacements
That's because the product broke because of a faulty component. You bought a new product, that should not break for 2 years (European guarantee). When you can't fix it, you must give a new product.

Then its probably the connection. Try using another cable or try to plug it into another monitor or tv.

First of all, don't be ashamed of learning something, be proud of learning.
Second, this seams a driver issue. Try the new Youtube interface and see if you still get the glitch (www.youtube.com/new)

kingkang reacted to Kobathor in Dutch court rules that Apple cannot supply ‘refurbished or remanufactured’ iPads as warranty replacements
Example: Apple sells you a laptop with a faulty graphics chip (has happened on numerous occasions, over many years.) You claim your warranty, since Apple sold you a defective product. What do you get back? A refurbished Macbook that has a faulty graphics chip that will die in a year or less. They've already fixed the problem in new sales, but the refurbs haven't all gotten the same treatment.
Just one example of many, and that's only Apple.

kingkang got a reaction from IAR117 in Shield K1 or Predator 8?
Definitely the Shield. It has a newer version of Android and will most likely get updates since the processor is from NVIDIA.

kingkang got a reaction from mechtech in Best free VPN service?
There isn't such thing as free VPN. Maintaining a VPN costs money and you must be charged for that. However there are some VPN providers that give you like 500MB data that can be used through their VPN's. Tunnelbear is a good example of that. You can check them out.
