The 6700 still has Turbo Booster up to 4ghz what makes it amazing for single core applications regardless, and to gaming and graffix in c4d and after effects on a GTX 1060? No, it will not make difference, you'd want it if you were going to play at 4k resolution ultra using a GTX 1080, then sure the CPU extra clock speed would assist the GPU to do its work effectively, but then we're talking about a "higher tier" than what you're going for.

    Thanks loads <3

Oh I thought you meant to OC, well yes you can run a K CPU perfectly fine in boards not meant for OC, I just don't think that it's that much of a benefit paying extra just for the clock speed being a bit higher when what you intend to do with the PC does not quite require it, and the money you save going with the non-k is enough to buy a memory stick, if his budget is limited while trying to keep as much performance as possible going with the non-k might still make more sense... but then it's completely up to him which way to go.

    Cheers!

I don't know :/ will the 0.6 ghz make any difference?

Actually if you consider he'd have to go with a more expensive mobo and a more expansive cooling solution the price goes higher than just the CPU pricing difference.

You're doing a lot like I did when I recently build my PC, and trust me it is the right way to go, the 6700k overclocked will be superior obviously but nothing all that screaming and frankly when high end gaming is your main purpose the 6700 will be more than enough.

Do not fall for the i5 6600k trap, you'll have to buy a more expansive board, even the cheapest z170 is still double the price of a decent cheap h110m, and in order to overclock it you'll also have to buy a good cpu heatsink while the 6700 stock cooler will be enough at least for the first experience. In performance numbers it's not easy pushing the OC of a 6600k up to 4,6ghz and anything under this clock the 6700 will show significant higher gaming performance while having 4 extra threads and HT which will become more and more useful in the future, including games.

    Thank you

    I've already got a screen + mouse + keyboard + headset

I want to render some good gfx 3d (c4d r16-r17)

I want to play video games such as, Minecraft, Gta5, bf1 and other games that require a 'Beefyer' pc

I'd render and edit in After effects (Latest) and premiere pro (Latest) and I'd use photoshop and record with Mirilis action

I came here because this is a tech community that I'd like to be part of.

Would this be any good for what I want to do?

    Many thanks,

    Joel
