  1. oh wow. i had no idea evga does psu's. i'll definitely look into that. as for the cooler, low maintenance and it's my first water cooled build. thought i'd give it a try
  2. Thanks guys. Upgraded to the 290x and still havent broken my $2,500 budget . atx build's a little too big for me though. I don't really have much space around my desk unfortunately. Also I believe the 750d's actually $50 more than the 350d. Thinking of going with the Phenom M instead. I quite like the look of it and it's small enough for me to take to lans. My question with this case though is, will it support a dual gpu config if I decide in future to add another card? Still tossing up between the h75 and the h100i in the meantime. 3. Hi all, I'm planing a new build that will be used for gaming and some graphical work (3d, photoshop, unreal/unity). The parts will be purchased from Australia. Here's the build so far. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($395.00 @ CPL Online) CPU Cooler: Corsair H75 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($109.00 @ CPL Online) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($188.00 @ CPL Online) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($99.00 @ CPL Online) Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($83.00 @ Centre Com) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($95.00 @ CPL Online) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 3GB WINDFORCE Video Card ($549.00 @ PCCaseGear) Case: Corsair 350D Window MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($139.00 @ CPL Online) Power Supply: Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($159.00 @ PCCaseGear) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($115.00 @ CPL Online) Monitor: Asus PA248Q 24.1" Monitor ($409.00 @ CPL Online) Total: $2340.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-08-22 16:52 EST+1000 I could easily save about $300 if I downgraded to a 4690k and a R9 280, but I'm not sure how much of a performance loss that it will be for what I'm going to be doing. Is the extra bit of performance really worth it that extra green? Cheers
  4. The screen size and thin bezel makes for a very sleek looking phone.
  5. Best thing about it's the sleek stylish brushed metal look. It just gives it that elegant and premium feel to it!
  6. local store in sydney. http://arc.com.au/ i've been looking at http://pccasegear.com/ which is down in melbourne but i'd feel more comfortable picking up the parts in store rather than having it shipped in.
  7. @Titanicium Think I'll wait for a while and see what happens then. I read somewhere on videocardz.com that nVidia's planning on releasing it within the first half of next year though I'm not sure how accurate those predictions are. As for cases, I'm generally looking for something of good value that has a sort of balance between performance and style. I don't particularly care so much about silence cause it doesn't really bother me that much as long as the noise isn't obnoxious. My budget for a case is around $200. I was kinda drawn to the Phantom cause of the look, color scheme and the price point in contrast to something like the Obsidian or something from Silverstone. I also like some of its features such as the SSD mount on the back. My local PC dealer where I might end up getting the parts from just started stocking the Carbide 540 Air which I'm kinda drawn to cause of it's height. But the width makes it kinda awkward cause I've got a rather short desk.
  8. sweet, thanks guys! Corsair h100i and Seasonic 760w PSU it is then. The ax760i's and extra $60 over the seasonic the reason why i chose the OCZ is because the red LED's matched the motherboard and the set of G.Skill sticks which I had previously considered. It's also slightly cheaper than the Corsair and Seasonic. one last thing I probably won't be getting this build until the new year. should i stick with the 780ti or would it be better to just wait for EVGA to release the classified edition?
  9. Hi all, this is a build idea that i have in mind for a gaming/workstation rig. I had previously worked around the idea of an x79 build but I found little use as I'm not really doing heavy intensive rendering, just some simple stuff and a bit of Unity and UDK. My only concern with this build though is the air cooler which will most likely block the view of that sexy motherboard. I'm a bit hesitant however on making the switch to liquid cooling as I'm paranoid about leakages. Would love to have some feedback as to whether I should stick with the NH-D14 or if there's an alternative that would work be more suitable.
