This is great, I would love to see the same from something like the 10 core i9 as a point of difference

This is essentially the question I want answered, I would love to see a head to head against the TR and i9 10 core, but with TR core limited to 10 cores for rendering, and trying to do something else, like watch youtube or something, and do the same thing on the i9, without disabling any cores, but see what real world feel is like, and the performance delta of the renders between the two.
 
I would guess the i9 would win the render times, but I wonder by how much, and if it's enough to warrant the loss in multi tasking performance.

So it's been past CES and I can't find where to buy the enclosure.

I feel the same way I have an nvme in my system and its really responsive, I've read that some say you wouldn't see a real appreciable difference maybe its just me but I sure do see and feel a difference with it apposed to not having it. The reason I suggested an x370 as I thought you would be overclocking and the power phase is much greater from what I can see between B350 and x370 but your not going that route so the one you are considering is good choice also for some reason pcpartspicker shows that board up to 2666mhz ram but the manufacturer's website shows up to 3200mhz o.c. I can tell you from my experience that Ryzen does in fact like fast ram I am running flare x and running very stable right out of the box, I do have Gskill rip jaw 3200mhz in my other rig and am having trouble even getting 2666 running stable hope the AGESA update helps out there.

Looks good, though 32GB RAM and NVMe SSD seem a bit overkill, anyway it's fine

I have both a 1600x and an 1800x for rendering and video editing my GoPro footage, it is all they say it is when it comes to that niche. And to think I was just about ready to pull the trigger on the Broadwell-e platform save a bit of money there!

Well in that case go for it you're going to enjoy 8 cores 16 threads for editing and video work rendering is excellent on the Ryzen platform for the dollar to performance ratio.

Step up to x370 better overclocking and you can run up to 3200mz Gskill Flare x at present time

I think this is the same person who did 14x 1080 watercooled rig. It's for rendering in Octane... LTT shoudl send a crew out to film this guys build
 
 

they did with the first 14x rig, but like... it was pretty dodgy, just the guy himself doing it, it would great to have nice production values
