  1. I have been using the same Nokia 8 now for like 3 years and I still do not feel compelled to change phone. Lets face it the change smartphone every year deal is over and that's why big names like Apple are going crazy.
  2. False, the FE has the same cooling capacity as other cards now, it wasn't plagued by the insufficient capacitors like the 'cheaper' aib cards and as cherry on top of the cake as always the FE cards have the best binning.
  3. Realistically speaking you'll only be able to comfortably buy 3000 series cards, on their correct price at least, next year.
  4. I'd rather get the FE. You'll pay actual msrp and get a card just as good as any high end aftermarket from nowadays, nVidia really got the cooler right so the car is cool and silent without ever throttling. Also there's been issues with how aftermarket cards were put together that's causing severe stability issues. https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/geforce-rtx-3080-ctd-issues-likely-due-to-poscap-and-mlcc-configuration.html
  5. 240hz is a gimmick, besides buying a 3080 for 1920x1080p lol Get yourself a 2560x1440p165hz panel, and no the 8700K still games much like the i9's specially if you're not multi-tasking with other cpu heavy loads.
  6. Uh no, don't base yourself on these fake videos it's just a montage. SLI is something of the past. Everyone who had a 1080 Ti could have waited the 3000 series and now the 3080 is here... it's a good upgrade but since this is nvidia if the 1080 Ti still does the trick might as well wait for a 3080 Ti or 3080 Super still.
  7. I'd stick to the ultrawide because 21:9 is a godsent for eye candy games being honest. Not only but 4k is still mostly placebo vs 1440p for gaming... this old video might still be use to get the point across:
  8. It's simply because there's no such thing as future proofing, you must buy for the today and not tomorrow. Imagine buying a 1300$ RTX 2080 Ti for futureproof a month before this 499$ RTX 3070 that's supposedly on pair with it. I'd say only things in a computer that you can future-proof are storage and monitor.
  9. I have been out of the loop for a while but as far as I recall there are no 29 inch ultrawides that have higher refresh rate than 75hz. LG does have a 144hz 2560x1080p panel but it's 34inch. I have the previous model, 29UM68P that as far as I am concern uses the same panel and I quite like it despite being limited to Freesync 75hz so if you're set on 29inch you'll have to accept this compromise.
  10. If it's worth or not depends on your need, if the CPU no longer suffices to what you do and you want more there certainly are good choices from either Intel or AMD, anything with 8 or more cores. If you just want to overclock you might be able to do so if you install specific BIOS for your motherboard, it'll be something to search about.
  11. Intel disabled overclocking on Broadwell-E due to security issues, you could be facing this issue.
  12. https://www.pcgamer.com/asrock-figured-out-a-way-to-overclock-intels-locked-non-k-comet-lake-cpus/ Do this with an AsRock board in addition to the 102.98 bclk overclock and you'll actually have pretty much the same experience as of the unlocked processor.

Finally playing through Red Dead Redemption 2.…

I finally got around playing it as well and I feels like a mixed bag... I don't know... The game is beautiful and the story and missions look great but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss it a bit more simplistic gameplay wise like the original RDR1 Also the witness/crime system is completely broken in this game, I was literally going into town sell a deer I hunt and some random started shooting at me, I did not shoot back instead I ran to the sherrif who killed the guy for me but then all of sudden witness and the sherrif were onto me for the crime? Like what.
  14. Both are garbage, if you're on an extremely tight budget at least go with the Crucial BX500 since it's the best perfoming/reliable dramless SSD you can buy.
  15. Honestly you shouldn't be experiencing these as far as I am concerned, is this a clean/new windows install? did you upgrade the GPU at any point and forgot to DDU? What do you do while gaming? As in... is there a lot of multi-tasking or just the game running?
  16. You're wrong, the 1080 Ti is comparable to the 2080.
  17. 720p with low~normal settings it should be playable (30fps+) but it also depends greatly on the thermal performance since it'll get quite toasty.
  18. Yes but did you DDU in safe mode before installing AMD drivers?
  19. You can either disable hyperthreading on all cores or not, you can't disable it for only some individual cores.
  20. Powercolor is a brand not a model, be more specific. Where are you buying from? USA?
  21. Depends if you're going for graphics or for framerate. If you want maximum fps reducing quality then the CPU can become a weak link otherwise it will be fine.
  22. yes, you might want better cooling for it than intel's stock cooler though.
