Intel shortage seems quite real, on Brazilian retailers the Ryzen 7 1800X is actually selling cheaper than the i5 8400, quite remarkable.

The Ryzen 7 2700 is priced identically to the left overs of the i5 7600K.

 

Gee... It is unquestionable where value lays at even when you still rather have Intel under the hood.

    In US the 1700 is also dirt cheap, like 8400 + cheap crap 120gb ssd money.

    pretty much as usual, CPUs are dirt cheap, motherboards are not. You can get Huanan boards I assume, but their durability depends on good things you've done in your past life.

    Ryzen was designed from the ground up to be cheap as hell to produce, no wonder it's inexpensive.
