  1. I want to rip my ears off right now, the noise it's extremely annoying
  2. I had never heard about it before, did my research and yes, it is possible, but it's more like just an on/off sound, instead of variable sound during variable loads...could it still be that?, I'm planning to unplug the case fans and then see, but one of the fans is a noctua, so I doubt it will be that, and the other two didn't make any sound when I increased the speed manually, (quick question here, speed fan doesn't recognise my MOBO, any other programs to control my case fans, i had to go to the BIOS settings of the mobo). Do you think I could change the card saying "weird sound coming from the card, that pretty much sounds like a short circuit" it's really annoying, and because of how high in pitch the sound is, I cant sleep with the computer on, which I need to do in order to mine.....
  3. I assembled this computer not so far ago, probably 4 months now, and the first time I played graphics demanding game I heard a sound very simimlar to the sound of a short circuit...not sure if it is the hard drive, the CPU or the GPU. the computer and its components: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/8sqkm8 you can hear the sound very clearly at the end of the recording....I already tried to set the Graphics card fan speed to max and couldn't hear it, its only during heavy use, like cryptocurrency mining or graphically demanding games. Took it to where I bought the parts but they said they would charge me 80$ to find the problem, or I could find them and they would send the part to be replaced if necessary, for free.... computer sound.m4a
  4. Thank you again, and last question is: How long do you think, it will take for the Intel processors to drop their price?
  5. Thank you for your time and answer one question if you don mind to answer: how can Ryzen perform better for content creation? (I mean what are the advantages of having Ryzen for content creation beside 10 seconds less of waiting for my program to render the video) Thank you again.
  6. So a couple of months ago a started a new topic asking for some help to build a computer, people were very supportive and we came up with this: PCPartPicker part list: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/b66dd6 Price breakdown by merchant: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/b66dd6/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($479.00 @ Shopping Express) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($115.00 @ IJK) Motherboard: Asus Z170 PRO GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($225.00 @ PCCaseGear) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LED 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($299.00 @ Centre Com) Storage: Samsung 960 PRO 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($445.00 @ IJK) Storage: Western Digital Red 3TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($158.00 @ Shopping Express) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB FTW DT GAMING Video Card ($845.00 @ Shopping Express) Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe ATX Full Tower Case ($199.00 @ PCCaseGear) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA P2 650W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link Archer T9E PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter ($88.00 @ Shopping Express) Monitor: LG 27MP58VQ-P 27.0" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor Keyboard: Corsair K70 LUX RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard ($189.00 @ Mwave Australia) Mouse: DLAND ZELOTES Wired Optical Mouse Total: $3042.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-03-05 22:43 AEDT+1100 but some people told me to wait and see the performance of the new Ryzen, and that's what I did. This week I started yet another thread asking for some help and people were very supportive again (very nice people around here), and we came up with this: PCPartPicker part list: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/7733BP Price breakdown by merchant: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/7733BP/by_merchant/ CPU: AMD RYZEN 7 1700X 3.4GHz 8-Core Processor ($565.00 @ Shopping Express) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($115.00 @ IJK) Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty X370 Gaming K4 ATX AM4 Motherboard ($199.00 @ Shopping Express) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2666 Memory ($299.00 @ Umart) Storage: Samsung 960 PRO 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($445.00 @ IJK) Storage: Toshiba 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($121.00 @ IJK) Video Card: GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 8GB EX OC Video Card ($799.00 @ PLE Computers) Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe ATX Full Tower Case ($199.00 @ PCCaseGear) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA P2 650W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link Archer T9E PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter ($88.00 @ Shopping Express) Monitor: LG 27MP58VQ-P 27.0" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor Keyboard: Corsair K70 LUX RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard ($189.00 @ Mwave Australia) Mouse: DLAND ZELOTES Wired Optical Mouse Total: $3019.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-03-05 22:45 AEDT+1100 so, my question is simple, which one would you pick and why? I need a computer in the next two weeks, and the mobos for the Ryzen (or at least the ones that I want are not available yet). but if I go with the intel's option, I will be buying a processor that is sure to drop its price in the upcoming weeks, so I'm also open for new ideas, I have 3000 AUD which is about 2300 american dollars, and only if it is extremely worth it, I would spend a bit more. I already have the peripherals, and I need my computer for video editing, streaming and gaming, so the computer should be able to run skype, a good game like gta V with high settings, and the video recorder/streaming program at the same time (OBS if anyone needs to know). I really appreciate any tips as well comments or ideas and I also I would like to thank you for your time.
  7. i was about to start shopping the things but the mobo is not available yet, any good replacement?
  8. ok many thanks for the info abouth the noctua. one last detail (or at least before I go and buy the parts) what do you think about the PSU?
  9. how can I ask noctua for the mount, being in here (Australia), and about the FTW, I like the performance and also in comparison with the galax the FTW is much more compact. one thing I noticed is that your build is about 50 AUD cheaper, and my question is, do i get better performance (overall... no need to get into really deep details such as the multi threads and so on) or the same? Thanks for the time Herman, I truly appreciate it.
  10. is there any way to get the 1080 FTW version? the cooler is not compatible with the mobo/processor (that's what it says, not sure though)
  11. I already have the mouse screen and the keyboard. in regards of the 1080 Ti, do you think it will be better to wait for it?
  12. Hey hello, I am re-planning to buy some parts to build my own computer, (I started planning in last year, and i decided I could wait to see how the Ryzen possessors were performing)I was doing the research, and I also asked in this forum and the people that helped me were extremely supportive, more than I was expected and I am really grateful with those who helped me. I would like to get the best for my budget, it will be my first build, however I have some experience assembling computers (I use to upgrade the one that I had) the only part that I have never changed or even removed from the motherboard is the processor but that shouldn't be problem, and for what I've seen its quite simple. I need some help to pick the parts that would give me the results I am looking for, after talking with some members of the forum and after some time we came with this: PCPartPicker part list: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/b66dd6 Price breakdown by merchant: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/b66dd6/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($479.00 @ Shopping Express) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($115.00 @ IJK) Motherboard: Asus Z170 PRO GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($225.00 @ PCCaseGear) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LED 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($299.00 @ Centre Com) Storage: Samsung 960 PRO 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($445.00 @ IJK) Storage: Western Digital Red 3TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($158.00 @ Shopping Express) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB FTW DT GAMING Video Card ($845.00 @ Shopping Express) Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe ATX Full Tower Case ($199.00 @ PCCaseGear) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA P2 650W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link Archer T9E PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter ($88.00 @ Shopping Express) Monitor: LG 27MP58VQ-P 27.0" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor Keyboard: Corsair K70 LUX RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard ($189.00 @ Mwave Australia) Mouse: DLAND ZELOTES Wired Optical Mouse Total: $3042.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-03-04 14:31 AEDT+1100 but with the new release of Ryzen I'm not sure anymore. here is some information: 1. Budget & Location: I live in Australia and my budget is around 3000 $AUD which is almost 2300 american dollars, I am willing to spend a few bucks more if it is worth it. 2. Aim: Will be used mostly for gaming, but i might want to do some streaming and video edition as well (so the computer should be able to run the game, skype and also the streaming software at the same time) kind of games?, well I can only think of star wars battlefront, and probably some VR in the future that's why I chose that video card. 3. Monitors Right now I am using a full hd monitor (1080p, 27") it doesn't have any display port that I can use (I don't know why as it is a brand new LG monitor...) and I am probably buying another one (also after assembling the rig...). 4. Peripherals: I do not need any peripherals such as keyboard or mouse, but I am unsure to which windows should I use and if I should purchase it, or just crack it....I do not like the new windows 10, I am currently using windows 7 and I really like it. 5. Why are you upgrading Because I am currently using a core i7 920 CPU, 8 GB of ram and a radeon HD 6800. A very old rig and I can not play anything on it, beside I think it is time to have a good computer that can last for years and that I can use if I buy a VR headset. Extras:I want to buy the gtx 1080 FTW DT but might be another edition (definitely GTX1080 but not sure which one)
  13. I was reading and the difference between the DT and the non DT version are pretty much the clock speeds, am I wrong?. If that's the case I wonder if the extra 250$ AUD or so are worth it? I can find much info related to that. Thank you.
  14. Sorry again for late reply, lots of work before Christmas brake. Also thanks again for your replies. I did some research and pretty much the most important difference between the psu you mentioned there and the one in the build is that one is platinum and the other one is gold, there is also the price difference and the warranty (one has 5 years and the platinum psu has 10 years, IMO this is very important); but correct me if I am wrong, if those are the main differences I think that the platinum is the choice for me. Regarding the keyboard, I had a K50 which is basically a K95 without the Cherry switches, and I really never used the extra keys so they are a waste in my case, so I decided to go for the K70, and I already got it, my wife bought it for me as a Christmas present, and I love it, is amazing. I have some other parts of the list, such as the screen (very good but the lack of a displayport is a big con), and the mouse, which might appear to be cheap (and it is) but, if for you the value is the biggest consideration for you to buy something you should definitely check it out (I know that I sound like some kind of desperate seller, but I am just in love with this mice) it cost me like 18 AUD and is probably the best investment in my life, anyway going back to the topic, I don't know if I should wait for the new AMD's CPU to hit the market as this will decrease the price of the intel, or if I should just start buying the things and leave the CPU as the last item (because of the price, I know that the socket is different). I like the random opinions that you gave me on your last post, they help me keeping an eye on all the things and not just focusing on the ones that I believe are important.
  15. I will wait, but not to buy them....The release oft the Zen will drop the i7 prices (I don't like to buy things as soon as they hit the market) so unless for some reason my build is delayed I am still buying the i7..... Here is the list so far, from the mobos you recommended me, I found this one is the best, and the extra 40 dollars for the aura thing are not worth because I will be buying LED magnetic strips. I also added the WIFI adapter that Matias recommended me, it seems to be pretty good. I really appreciate your comments in case you have any...
