  1. Ehm my point actually was the opposite, sure it can take a lot of time but it's a lot easier than getting 1000 subs. Usually once you get to that point you'll have quite a bit more than 4000 hours watched.
  2. Being a YouTuber still well below the threshold. I demonetized myself months ago. It basically did nothing for my revenue and at my current level not having monetization on is proving much better at keeping my audience. I was making more money off of Patreon anyway. Once I am at 10 times the new minimum I'll probably turn it on again.
  3. There is nothing wrong about that article or the analysis. First of all, it's not CNBC or its analysts saying that but rather a firm and their analyst saying it to their clients. CNBC is just reporting it. As far as the analysis goes, it's definitely an edge for if not Nvidia then AMD. A lot of buyers will be unaware of the differences between a CPU and GPU so AMD could use it as an edge on security for their CPU and GPU and Nvidia could use it if the rumoured Intel dGPU becomes a thing in the next two years. There is also a final reason why the firm would report this to their clients. investing in tech does not mean you have to be in the know about how any of it works (see the Nintendo stock bump after Pokémon Go became all the rage), a lot of them won't understand the difference between a CPU and GPU, and as such believe that Nvidia and AMD would also be affected thus leading to a possible loss in confidence in those brands.
  4. That's not going to work, if you want the benefits of an SSD it will need to be installed on the SSD. If you don't want to use the space, you can install it on the HDD but it wil run at HDD speeds.
  5. No, you get charged for enterprise validation and the guarantee that whatever workload you put on it is going to work 24/7. Or more specifically, professionals get charged that. This isn't a consumer product.
  6. This is how you pay modders the right way. Learn a thing or two Bethesda.
  7. Meh, investors overreacting to current news. Not that rare. Call me again if their stock is still that low by the next quarterly.
  8. Unless he does very CPU intensive tasks a new CPU with a GTX 660 is going to be bottlenecked much more than a GTX 1060 with an i7 860. That's still a pretty capable 4c/8t cpu that will easily handle most games with very little bottlenecking.
  9. Yay, not vulnerable on this old system.
  10. Even games about killing nazis tend to be censored in some countries when they heavily feature nazi imagery.
  11. I'd seriously consider going for an Intel i7 build and go somewhat higher end but not get a gpu or ssd and go for a lower ram amount on a single stick, he can then play for a while on the iGPU and get a good GPU when he has more money. That way he has a complete build and won't lose any money on having to resell below cost. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QpqDGf Something like this gives him a chip that has amazing gaming performance, the threads to do pretty decent streaming while playing WoW and is basically ready to put a GTX 1080, 8 GB extra ram and a SSD in in just a few weeks.
  12. Sure, doesn't mean they're making good GPUs, which does require the existing expertise from one of the big 2 It's enough to produce a discrete GPU, but that doesn't automatically mean it is a good GPU. If they start from scratch they're dealing with a maze of proprietary systems the competitors have already patented, legacy support where the competitors can simply go for the work they've done over decades and a bunch of other stuff which has prevented some really big companies from entering the desktop discrete GPU market and even the GPGPU market.
  13. To an extent, you're easily getting into a mess of non-compete clauses as well as legal action if they come even close to infringing on any of the Nvidia or AMD patents
  14. I highly doubt Intel is willing to throw the kind of money at it that would give them the full RTG or Nvidia teams.
  15. Sure, now just the entire team that does the actual legwork of developing the architectures as well as driver creation. Especially with legacy support.
  16. I'm not sure what your budget is but if at all possible I'd strongly recommend doing a platform upgrade to AM4 and getting a Ryzen 3 chip.
  17. Realistically you probably bricked it when restoring.
  18. Yes, which can be enforced in civil courts. You aren't however going to have police standing at your door for violating a contract without some crime being committed.
  19. I believe they made it so that if you upgraded your Windows 7 license before the free update expired your old key is considered a Windows 10 key. Plus your hardware is already recognized as valid Windows 10 so you likely don't even need a key at all.
  20. At worst it's violating a contract, not even close to a criminal offence or anything the police cares about.
