It also started causing major browser memory leaks in firefox and edge. Someone pushed this thing to live on about a dozen pc's before I saw it and now all the 8gb pc's are not having a good time at all.

Good thing for the people is that now management allowed me to upgrade their ram so as of today 32gb of ram is the new standard policy so euh thanks microsoft?

From what I can tell, there were no threads on this forum about it which I think was strange.
And yes, at this point it's a bit "old", but I still think there are interesting discussions to be had, and some people may not have watched those videos. I guess some mod can move it to general discussions if they feel like it's not "news" anymore.

Although it seems to be an evolving story since there are quite a few documents to go through.

Word. Support the ones you watch on an individual basis. I'm the type of fan who'll buy merch instead of subscriptions, tho I am considering unsubscribing from PC Gamer cause they're sort of losing it and subscribing to The Escapist cause Cold Takes swing like Thor's hammer with every episode, plus I'd support zero punctuation.

We actually had this place scoped out for a while. My understanding is that Linus or another writer stumbled across it and had an idea for a video. When I went in to talk to him about it late last winter, Keith seemed to not only be game, but was also just really entertaining to talk to. Guy is always cracking jokes and they almost always land. I told him we'd be in touch, gave him my contact info, then proceeded to not respond for 6 months so we'd be sure to catch him by surprise. To my knowledge, he's got no plans of closing down, nor did we have any contact with him outside of this video concept. It also really helped make the decision easy to do this shop because he has a 4.7 star rating on google maps with nearly 200 reviews and still uses an ISP provided email address, which I personally take as a sign that someone is doing something right in their small business because it means that their clients have been returning for so long that it's difficult to change emails.

This was always the biggest thing I thought was lacking from iFixit scores, they only scored the physical side of a repair, but software has become just as important to the repairability equation. Who cares how easy it is to get to switch the screen if doing so bricks the device?

    Great change from them.

On September 19th Dwarf Fortress, a beloved ASCII Dwarf colony simulator in development since 2002, has finally been released with support for Linux!

    My thoughts
I think now is a great time to look at dwarf fortress if you've never heard of it, it's made by two guys as a passion project that have been working on it since 2002. It's been notoriously a windows only game for a long time, but now it's available natively on Linux!
To understand the history of this game:
I think this is a big deal, it means I can finally play the game on my linux machines, but it also means the game is more easily available to players, so it deserves recognition

Doesn't matter. What needs to happen is to roll back all this bullshit to 2021 if they want to be seen as credible again. ALL of it.

Neither the site formerly known as Twitter, nor Reddit rolled back their stupid API changes, and I don't expect Unity to either. These numbskulls running these companies like vultures would not be missed if they were fired.

    Summary
In what is the umpteenth time now, military personal have leaked documents in how their vehicles operate on the war thunder forums for the sake of correctness.
This time for a ah-64 longbow apache.

The post was swiftly removed but of course not before plenty of people saw the document.

It was argued that since the document wasn't classified it was fine, but as noted by other users the document is still restricted to the DOD and it's contractors only.
    My thoughts
They might just want to restrict posting PDFs to the forums to make it a tad more difficult for the average guy to post documents. That forum is bound to get shutdown or already crawling with bots from other nations at this point that copy every second of every page hoping to capture documents like these.

If you want professional advice from a locksmith, go hire one. Don't post on a forum and then get mad when people reply.

A combination lock is arguably no more secure, since it can be brute forced by checking every possible combination. There are tools that do it automatically within a few hours. If you're worried about law enforcement accessing the safe a combination lock isn't going to stop them. A lock will never completely prevent somebody from accessing it, it will only deter or delay.
