I honestly don't see what's cursed about that. Is it just the old kb+m?
I guess this qualifies for a regular post on the "show your build" thread.

There’s always weird stuff on my local Craigslist.
“late 2000’s aesthetic”
buddy that’s not what that means
this is a ryzen 5 2600 and an RX 570 btw
or this guy and their i7 6700TE and Quadro M2000 “gaming pc”
or even better, this person selling their sandy bridge i3 and gt 210 including a full sales pitch for switching to linux
They might as well have started with “I’d like to interject for a moment, what you’re referring to as Linux-“

Cyberspirit reacted to manikyath in Bell Fibe PVR recordings expire after 60 days.
people want to get upset about how expensive their service is.. so they switch to another ISP to get worse service for more money. it appears to just kind of be "cool" to hate them.. despite their offerings being absolutely shocking to people abroad.
at will, i can walk into their shop and:
- swap out my modem for whatever the latest model is, free of charge.
- swap out my settop box for whatever the latest model is, free of charge.
- add or remove modems and settop boxes from my plan, with only the monthly cost addition or removal, no setup fees.
- take a new device home and plug it into the wall myself, without having to pay an activation fee or *have* to get a technician to do it.
- ask a technician to do it anyways, and get a tech visit free of charge
oh and when your wifi absolutely sucks ass, they have a service that -for a flat fee- comes and install access points all over your house. (the fee is essentially the value of said wifi devices, and it is not even close to paying for the tech's time)
oh, and here's a shocker too.. they actually guarantee their speeds.. none of that "up to" nonsense.

Cyberspirit reacted to da na in Bell Fibe PVR recordings expire after 60 days.
Well it seems cloud storage is also very expensive.
500GB is a pretty common PVR capacity. If every of the 2.65 million Bell TV subscribers in Canada filled that 500GB on the cloud, that's 1325 petabytes.
That is an absolute shitton of data and past a point (which has clearly been reached),it's cheaper to put a bunch of HDDs in people's set-top boxes than host millions of users' recorded videos in the cloud.

Biden posted a tweet about how he talked to President Xi Jinping about US/China relations and other world issues. Im not sure if he did that before or after he forgot where he was.........
At this point its getting comical. We cant put the AI back in the box and really all these restrictions do is slow down the inevitable.

Cyberspirit reacted to LAwLz in Please leave my walled garden alone
It's not a situation where it is either Apple or pharmaceutical companies. They could do both. What you are doing here is called a "fallacy of relative privation".
But it is most likely easier to tell Apple "hey, stop deliberately making it hard for users to leave your ecosystem" than it is trying to reform the field of medical research. Making changes to IP law for medical stuff could have devastating effects as well if not done carefully and correctly. Telling Apple that they have to support RCS, or telling Apple to stop restricting what developers can communicate to their users for example is way easier and far less risky.

Cyberspirit reacted to LAwLz in Please leave my walled garden alone
The good thing about opening things up is that you still get to stay in the walled garden if you want and enjoy all those benefits. It's just that others who may not feel exactly like you could also benefit in some other ways.
If you want an analogy, it's like if some restaurant added some vegan options to their menu, while keeping all the old stuff there as well. Just because the restaurant now has more options and can appeal to more people doesn't mean you have to order the new stuff. You can keep ordering the old non-vegan meals if you want.

Cyberspirit reacted to TetraSky in GTA 6 production falling behind, possibility of delay
Good. Delay it.
Unrealistic time frames set by pencil pushers higher ups who then force devs to do crunchtime should disappear. It will be ready when it's ready to be released.

Umm that literally makes Glassdoor a pointless product. Wonder if some large company was getting bad reviews and wanted to pressure Glassdoor? Maybe everyone should drop a review for Glassdoor on their site.

Cyberspirit reacted to Senzelian in The US Department of Justice accuses Apple of having an illegal monopoly over smartphones
By definition, they don't have a monopoly, neither in hardware nor software. But can we just agree that they're assholes? There should be an anti-asshole law.

Cyberspirit reacted to LePetitPrince in Microsoft fixes the Teams app on Windows 11
I am still struggling with the fact that they made "new teams" and updated the "old teams" but left the "old teams" installed as separate application where, whenever I need to run the Teams, it first turns on the "old teams" asking me if I want to use "new teams". But whenever I search for "Teams" in Windows search, it opens the "old teams" all over again. It's unnecessary annoying mess.
The worst is, the in-browser version works way better and smoother.

Cyberspirit reacted to CosmicEmotion in How is it that not more people switch to Linux?
Long story short, I had to install Windows on my really powerful laptop for an Unreal Engine project and boy oh boy, I was STUNNED just by how bad Windows has become.
It's slow, ads everywhere, useless features that are there just for data gathering, bugs left and right.
Linux can play 99% of games these days. Is Val and CoD or Adobe seriously that important to you guys that you put up with all the garbage that comes with Windows? I'm seriously astounded.
Maybe it's because the change was gradual for you but seriously, as someone who hasn't' really used Windows in 6 years coming back was an absolute shock to me.
I can understand using Windows for work, but If I had to use it, I would strictly do it for work and switch back to my Linux partition instantly when Windows was not needed.
To me, the concept of "fighting with your system" has been absolutely reversed in the time I was gone. It's absolute insanity.

It's that time of year again! After a bit of a chilly week last week, I went out yesterday for my first outdoor ride of the year. No leaves on the trees yet and the reservoir was still partially frozen over, but it was a nice, sunny, albeit windy, day. Looking at doing a loop around the rockies sometime in July using the following route.
63km in 3 hours and 1 minute.

Stopped using it 3 months ago. Replaced it with Reddit... Stopped using Reddit a few days ago.
The endless scrolling for quick content is everywhere these days and so easy to fall into when bored. Be it youtube shorts, instagram, twitter or some other social media... It's all cancer for your sanity.
That said, related to this topic... It's just the US fear mongering as usual. They are just mad they aren't the ones doing the spying for once.
