Either one. Speakers (like a shelftop audio system) and headphones. I can turn down youtube but I am having to turn up my headphones (turtle beaches) up loud enough to hear the hiss from the inline USB. I just noticed that it doesn't happen with Overwatch, but does with Rainbow Six and Dishonored 2. Rainbow six is being launched from Uplay and Dishonored from steam. Both have volume settings maxed in game. When I check the mixer, the quiet games barely go above 25% on the bar, where as Overwatch will go the whole way (near the top).

Hello! Been struggling with an audio issue for some time now. For some reason ALL of my games are much, much quieter than everything else on my computer. Chrome and Firefox are loud, as is system sounds etc, but whenever I start a game I have to turn my browser down to around 25 percent just to hear my game. Unchecked the 'make audio quieter for conversations'. I have checked mixer settings, uninstalled GeForce Experience (thought it might be shadow play), re-installed audio drivers (realtek), and re-installed video drivers. No dice. Any ideas? ( I am using integrated audio for Asus Maximus VIII Extreme)

Hello All! I recently built a rig using an Asus Maximus Extreme VIII Assembly motherboard. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=n82e16813132698 This Mobo comes with an external DAC, designed to be used in a 5" bay. When designing my system, I originally planned on using a Formula board, so the case I fell in love with didnt have or need 5" bays (Corsair Air Carbide 740). This is the first DAC I have ever had, so i really want to use it! The onboard audio of the Extreme Assembly is way better than what I am used to, so I have been surviving on that. My question: Is there a way I can use this DAC externally? It connects to the power supply using standard 'rail?' connectors, and the motherboard using a usb header on the motherboard. Any suggestions? Could I use a USB port somehow? I have tried just running the cables out of the case but they aren't long enough and my case really doesnt have a hole I could fit the usb connector through. I really want to use the DAC but not bad enough to replace my case, especially since the onboard audio is pretty good. Also, I am using a pair of USB amplified Turtle Beach Atlas' right now. Do I need to continue using the usb portion of that now that my Mobo offers amplification? I have noticed that I have to send audio through the 3.5 jack and not USB to be able to take advantage of the sound options (sonic studio) on my soundcard. Thank you SO MUCH for any help!

Hello all, I recently built a computer. despite what cooler master said, my CPU cooler blocks the the first PCI x16 slot of my Asus Maximus Extreme VIII Assembly board. I have my 1070 Strix in the third PCI x8 slot. Everything is working well right now but I want to install the 10 gig PCI NIC that came with the board. The manual reccomends using the NIC in the 4th PCI slot (something about that slot's lanes being controlled by a seperate chip and not the cpu). It makes me kind of nervous having my GPU blowing directly down on the back of the NIC, so I would like to move it up a slot. Will I have to uninstall my drivers, move the GPU, and then reinstall the drivers? Or can I just move the card? Also, I read that there is only a 1% loss of performance using the x8 slot over the x16. Is this true? If not, should I return my massive, sexy Cooler Master 8 air cooler and go with a liquid closed loop cooler to clear up space? Thanks for any input!!

Was looking to buy one three days ago. Price was 399 on New Egg with a 30 dollar instant savings. Now it looks like both New Egg and Amazon are out of stock, and the sellers that do have it are asking 489 - 499. Is this normal? Should I expect a restock, or should I settle for a Hero? I dont need a Formula, but its sexy and I want it. Thanks!

I was about to pull the trigger on this today, but the Formula is now suddenly out of stock everywhere (or at least its now the same price as the Extreme!). Does this happen a lot with boards? If I wait will it come back into stock you think, or should I just get the Hero Alpha? Thanks a lot!

Does it give you the option to re-use it in another build in like 2-3 years, or will it still be outdated? Is color the only difference with that PSU? As for storage HDD, I dont download alot and have lived with a singular 500 for a few years, so I think I'll be OK to start. SCG: Thats why I was shooting for 4, since the board supports it. So I should go for the fastest supported?

I got a solid sysadmin job and I figure now would be a great time to build a rig. Would you guys mind taking a look at what I have planned? I am most concerned about part compatibility and space requirements. I am looking to spend around 1.5K (minus the CPU which I have already bought). I am looking to play 1080p Ultra 60.
