  1. So far, I have yet to gain one from a faucet. They have all been down, dry, or I get some kind of error. It looks like there are quite a few out there so I'll keep trying. Thanks for the suggestion! :Edit: Got a faucet to go through finally, and with my first coin, reward assignment succeeded! Thanks again
  2. Hi Everyone. After discovering I had quite a handful of some old external and internal HDDs lying around, I thought I'd be fun to set up a small Burstcoin Miner. Given how small my plots currently are and the value of the coin, i'm not expecting to make really any money off it, I'm honestly just curious to give it a go and see how it all works. After plotting my drives, I've been getting an error in the Miner which makes me think I've not properly set the system up. In the Miner window, I get this message "[Error 875573297] Account's reward recipient doesn't match the pool's". After some reading, I'm under the impression this is because I have not "activated" the account, or something to that effect. However, when I try to set the Reward Recipient through the local wallet, I get another error message "Rewardassignment did not succeed", and when attempted via the browser wallet; "{"errorDescription":"Unknown account","errorCode":5}. I also see that it costs one Burst to set a Reward Recipient, but I don't understand where I'm to get my first coin if I cant mine correctly yet. In either case I feel like there is something I'm missing here. Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  3. Great! Yeah it came preinstalled with WinXP, and almost right away we installed Ubuntu 9.10 and have slowly rolled up to version 16.10. Other than that, my experience and skill with Linux is quite small, I've only dipped my toes in the waters of other Distros (Astro 2.0 and Fedora). I think Ill try Lubuntu first, and use a VM on my desktop to get a feel with Arch as well. Thanks for the input!
  4. Hey there. Got an old Asus Eee PC Netbook (pretty sure the model is 1001PX-BBK301, not 100% positive though) that I want to squeeze some more life from before replacing it. Do you guys have any recommendations for distros that would be right for older and/or slower hardware? I know there are some other Ubuntu flavors geared towards old hardware, but I'm not experienced with them enough to know which may be the right choice for me. Inside is an Intel Atom N450, 2GB of DDR2, and a 160GB HDD. Thanks!
  5. The Halo:ODST soundtrack was a surprise favorite for me. Nice blend of orchestra, dark percussion, with ambient and even jazz undertones at times; a bit different from the main series' scores.
  6. Right off the bat, I'd maybe look into an SSD. You could use it for your OS/most frequented programs, and store everything else on the HDD. Got any idea what Motherboard your have? That can shine some light on other upgrade opportunities.
  7. Yeah no I totally agree. I just noticed he hadn't done so already, so I figured it may have been out of his budget to have the two drives, or just a single SSD.
  8. A Solid State Hybrid Drive might be a good idea if your considering using just one hard drive at the moment. Here's a 2TB one on Amazon that I've used before that works well. Its a slight step up from your garden variety HDD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EIQTKAS/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=19Q557NSMRIQO&coliid=I2P0WNYU5WLBAQ&psc=1
  9. I had FO4 on my last system with a Phenom II X4 940 and GTX 650 with 6gbs of RAM. Most everything was Medium/Low -ish with no mods. Id say you should be fine if you aim at medium setting with only few mods at the very most
  10. Howdy! Purely a theoretical question here. When it comes to custom liquid cooling setups, would there be any benifit to having two small loops in a system, say one for the CPU, and maybe a second to handle a GPU/anything else, instead of one large loop? Ive noticed on high(er) end cooling setups with more than just the CPU, often have everything one right after the other in the setup order. I could imagine two loops would probably be far more expensive considering you'd be buying basically twice the amount of hardware when you could have just made one big loop in the first place. But if price wasn't a factor, would it make any difference? Thanks!
  11. I recently got Gigabyte's Gaming 7 myself and love it. Ive been using Gigabyte mobos for years on both the Intel and AMD side, all have exceeded my expectations on lifetime and durability. I recomended them full heartedly. I haven't done much over clocking yet on my Gaming 7 model though so I can't give much insight there
  12. Hi everyone! I'm about to purchase a new graphics card. I'm replacing a Gigabyte 750ti Black Edition with a 6GB GTX 1060 most likely. After seeing I have a few tiltes that support PhysX, I thought I'd look into using my old card as dedicated PPU. From what I've read, seems like its not entirely worth using the additional hardware in many cases but I'm still curious to experiment. But that got me thinking, will the additional PhysX hardware have any negative impacts on other titles that do not support PhysX? From what I understand, is it correct to assume will it simply help titles that do, and everything else will preform exactly as before? Thanks!
