Well that interesting, I'll make sure I'll keep an eye out for the future! I want to be 100% sure before I process a refund so I followed the manual very closely 😄

Damn you're right. They changed it at some point. I was puzzled when I first got my B550 elite. Couldn't clear bios without PSU plugged in and it's even in the manual. Your board, B450 is "the old way": https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_b450-aorus-elite_e_1101_v1.pdf?v=c929cd26479904dd13427b268b6f94c6

KingCollins reacted to LinusTech in Linus tech tips "pirating" OCCT - answer from the dev [Reddit thread]
My response (copy pasted from reddit):

    Linus here.

First and foremost, I'm sorry for any upset we caused by using OCCT without paying for a professional license. I've gone ahead and picked up a pro license to cover our use. https://imgur.com/HlDn2Ic

The truth is I had no idea OCCT was a paid software. There is a donation prompt in the application, but otherwise no indication that I should have been using a paid version.
Ignorance doesn't excuse our sloppy approach to software licensing here, though. The simple fact is we pirated your software (which as some of you realize I never said we were perfect about, and in fact have pointed out times when my own ethics aren't bothered by it, but whatever) but hopefully our purchase of a paid license will allow us to put this behind us.

There are some other aspects of your post that I could probably type out a longer reply to - like the insinuation that (even if we wanted to) LTT could somehow destroy your OCCT business, or that we don't reply to outreach (I searched our public email and we only have two emails containing the characters OCCT, and neither of them are from you), and the fact that honestly I've got a little bit of whiplash right now from how abruptly this went from "thanks for the shout-out" to "I'm upset enough to write a novel on reddit about it".

Most devs recognize that our use of their software is closer to educational use than it is to commercial use and don't mind us using their software for free if we are demonstrating how to use it and showcasing it to potential customers on the channel. Based on this Twitter post, I assumed you felt the same way. I guess you don't.

But assumptions lead to disasters, and we absolutely should have reached out. Hopefully you can understand how the error occurred and we can put this behind us.

A 3970x should NEVER be  paired with a 1660s. That is a $1800 cpu. Also, it is bad value unless you need all of the cores.

Ok my son and seems like 100 people having this issue lately, the fix I saw people talking about was to restore to previous date prior to new windows update then block windows from updating. Hope that's the issue

No you cannot install Pfsense or any other OS on a routerboard except for OpenWRT I've seen someone show off. But that depends on specific chipsets.

RouterOS is far more powerful than Pfsense, just uglier if you use the GUI.

What don't you like about it in particular?

KingCollins reacted to Mikensan in Safe to expose a Apache Webserver endpoint?
SSL protects the data in transit, not the server itself.
Large portion of websites are hosted on apache, so I would read some hardening guides, separate it from the rest of your network, and go for it. There are probably a few scripts you can run that will walk through and secure apache.

If you use Nextcloud (fork of owncloud, better IMO) they have a hardened OVA you can import into ESXi. I believe their docker varient is also secured.

If your reverse proxy isn't secure but your apache server is, it almost defeats the purpose. Reverse proxies work great, just make sure you keep it + the apache server up to date.

CIFS/SMB is your best choice, Windows Server can be an NFS target server but you won't really gain anything doing that and Windows really does prefer SMB.
