Hello guys, It's been a while since I've posted anything in the forums. Recently I decided to rebuild my PC and I've been trying to figure out the parts that I'd like to use and how to connect everything. At first I was thinking about using to EKWB Volume 360 reservoirs but then Alphacool released their Core Distro plates and I thought it would fit perfectly, however I cant figure out a way to actually make it work while keeping it symetrical. What came to my mind, though it's not something I'd like to do would be to change the two 360mm radiators with 6x120mm ones, add ram waterblocks and create two separate loops - the first the GPU waterblock/(left)RAM block and a second one for the active backplate/(right) RAM block. Then Add a third loop for the CPU. While it *might* work it seems unnecessary complicated and... It would be a huge mess... The build will be a wall mounted one, using a core p7 as a base though I plan some heavy modifications to the case... I've attached a layout of the components down bellow. @bowrilla None taken! I think I'll try the acetone method with a fitting first as you suggested. I definitely don't want to mess with concentrated acids, so if it doesn't work with acetone I think I'll just scrap the idea. @Blue4130 Thanks for the suggestion! As I mentioned I haven't really used any of those stronger acids, and I don't feel quite comfortable working with them. Ill try the acetone method and if it doesn't work I'll either find someone more experienced to do it for me, or I'll scrap the idea.

Hello, Recently I decided to go copper tubing for my build. I was thinking about nickel plating them, but I ended up really liking the way it looks. So now I'm more interested in stripping the nickel plating of my blocks instead and going with some sort of steampunk aesthetic. I have a couple of questions. First off, has anyone removed nickel plating from a block before? I've read that an acetone bath should do the trick, but has anyone actually tried it? I don't want to end up with a ruined nickel plating.. The other thing that worries me is how to prevent the copper from tarnishing - inside the loop and on the outside? I have a couple of unopened EK Cryofuel bottles. Would that be enough to prevent the blocks from tarnishing or should I add something extra? Also how should I treat the copper on the outside - the piping, the outside parts of the blocks, etc?

I recently got my hands on a 1080ti, however, the core and memory clocks are stuck frustratingly low, no matter what application I run. As you can see from the image bellow it gives 9 FPS in Furmark. The TDP is also at 162%. Is there anything I can do to fix that or is the card dead for good? I already tried reinstalling the drivers, reseating the card, flashing a different bios, but nothing seems to work.

Hello, first of all, I know the card is old and I know it's kind of a thermal reactor, but it's serving it's purpose. Yesterday I was playing some WoW and alt-tabbed out of game and some artifacts appeared on screen, after a few seconds it turned black. I checked the cables, the contact with the pci-e slot, the HDMI cable, everything seems to be in place, but no image. I opened the card and gave it a bit of a clean, changed the thermal paste and thermal pads, but still nothing. This morning it kind of worked. The MSI "go to bios" screen appeared. There was artifacting, but still. It went to windows loading screen and then it lost all image. I have two of those cards in CF, so I swapped them around everything worked normally. Both cards were in the device manager (though the second one had an exclamation mark next to it). Any ideas what went wrong and is there a way to fix it?

I know that ECC is not listed on the official page, but neither are Xeon processors even though they are supposed. I feel the same way, but couldn't find anyone to confirm...

Hello, I'll be buying a new monitor, 3 new monitors to be specific. I have my eyes on Acer ED242QRA or AOC C24G1, still haven't decided. However since both of them are 144hz I was wondering if I would be able to run them at that refresh rate. My GPU is 390x and it has a single displayport 1.2, so is there any displayport splitter or something that will allow me to run all 3 of them at 144hz refresh rate?

I decided to pass on that PSU, and most likely pass on the 390s, since as @Herman Mcpootis mentioned 1070ti/1080 will perform better and will cost me just a few bucks extra (which I'll save from electricity bills lol). @OrionFOTL Yeah probably my logic is a bit broken... As with everything - some of them are good and some - not that much... @Stefan Payne You're right! I just wanted to try multi-GPU even though I know it does make zero sense.

Hello guys, I'm planning to run two r9 390x on my pc, but my current psu is Corsair cs650m, which obviously won't be enough. I can get a Thermaltake Smart Pro RGB 850W Bronze for a really good price, but I feel like 850w is cutting it way too close. Which leads to the question - is it okay to buy a chinese power supply, and more specifically this one? I know '90 plus gold' doesn't exist, but it does have 5 star rating (then again only 4 votes..) and the ad says 90% efficiency. I saw that people use those power supplies for mining, but couldn't find useful reviews.. I'm like 90% sure I'll go with EVGA or Corsair, because we all know that the power supply is like the most important component and if it's unreliable it can kill not only itself but other components as well. But there's like 10% of my consciousness saying 'Hey, it will be alright! Where do you think those branded ones are made?'.. So would you 'risk' it, or would you buy more expensive power supply from established manufacturers?

Ops you're right, it's actually 427 usd for the cheapest one available at the moment, the 1080ti starts at ~976 usd... The prices are even higher in Eastern Europe... I also heard that MSI Armor series coolers are not that good. That's the reason I wanted to add it to my water loop, but sadly nobody seems to make blocks for this specific card!

Hello everyone! I found a pretty good deal on MSI Radeon RX580 Armor 8G, but since I haven't been paying attention to AMD lately (after the 3xx series I got a little annoyed by their rebadging), I'm not sure whether it's worth it or not. It usually goes for around 580 USD where I live, this one is around 270! I've heard that Gigabyte and PowerColor 580 cards had some bad memory issues, so is everything okay with this one? Also I searched a bit, but couldn't find water block compatible with this exact model. Are there any?

Is the problem on your new monitor only? I had a similar issue with one of my Acer monitors, so I RMA'd it and they replaced it with a new one. The 480 should be plenty to handle both monitors (except for gaming, but for movies and general use it should be okay).

Hello guys! It might not be the place for it, but I really need to share this with someone... So I got my driver's license 3 weeks ago and I've been driving my dad's car. I've never driven alone (my dad is usually in the seat next to me), but yesterday he said I can take the car, because I had some stuff to take care of. So I did, and everything was fine, but when I was driving home I thought it's a good idea to drive outside town for a while. I drove for a good half an hour and decided to turn around and go home... So I was reversing (the road was quite narrow) and I hit... as dumb as it sounds... a tree. Now there's a little dent in the back of the car, the paint is good tho. I'm pretty sure my father wouldn't get mad, but I feel so small and stupid. I'm actually ashamed to even tell him... I was just getting comfortable with driving, and now I feel like garbage again. Any of you had similar experiences in the begging of your 'driving career'? It might sound stupid, but it really upset me..

Hello guys, my MSI GS40's battery is swollen. I want to remove it but I don't really know how, I thought that I just unscrew the screw and it will pop out but it seems a bit more complicated. If anyone have the same laptop and removed their battery or has the knowledge how it's done could you share it? I tried to find a tutorial or something but had no luck. Here's a picture of it, any help will be appreciated!

I haven't thought of the battery life. Should probably check it out! I don't really plan on getting AGA since I have a pretty good stationary PC at home, but who knows, it wouldn't hurt to have it as an option!

It's a 14 inch screen laptop with the following specifications: 14 inch 1080p IPS display Graphics card: Nvidia gtx 970m 3gb Processor: Intel core i7 6700hq 16GB of DDR4 RAM @2133mhz 256GB NVMe samsung ssd 1TB Hitachi HDD (7200rpm) I'm wondering should I trade it for an Alienware 15 with the following specs: 15.6 inch 1080p IPS display Graphics card: Nvidia gtx 970m 3gb Processor: Intel core i7 4710hq 16GB of DDR3 RAM @1600mhz 150GB ssd (the owner said that NVMe ssd can be installed, I'm not sure tho) 1TB Toshiba HDD (7200rpm) He also said that the keyboard and the battery were changed before he published the add. I'm just so biased towards alienware... I guess the cooling will be better on the alienware laptop but is it even worth it? I do game occasionally. Yesterday I played 2-3 hours of overwatch and the temps went to 75-80 ot medium settings (I bumped the settings down with the idea of keeping the temps low but...) That's mainly why I consider the idea of trading it for the Alienware's one. And the design of course... I'm such a fanboy... I'll be glad to hear your opinions!
