  1. I know but may still work. 8.1 and 10 are not that different. otherwise, I wouldn't know what else to do
  2. Have you tried all of these options: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/how-to-fix-page-fault-error-windows-10,36234.html
  3. I'll try and sort some kind of heat dissipation thingy
  4. motherboard... had the same error some time ago. Updating motherboard bios fixed it for me.
  5. I recently bought 2 Samsung Evo 970 500GB M.2 NVME SSD's and installed one in my desktop, and one in my laptop. When running Crystaldiskmark, The SSD installed in the desktop has sequential read/write speeds of about 3500/2500, but my on my laptop it shows 1800/1700. All updates are installed and Samsung magician shows that both SSD's are connected through PCI-E gen.3 x 4. Laptop is powered and off energy saving mode. What can cause this difference in performance? I thought maybe thermal issues in the laptop... The SSD gets up to 70°C in the laptop vs 50°C in the desktop. But I don't know what's normal with these SSD's Desktop MB: Gigabyte Designare EX X399 Laptop: HP Pavilion 15-cs0960nd
  6. I have made a website(webflow) that is to be used on a touchscreen at a permanent/unmanned stand for my company. I want to have it running on full screen so it shows a presentation and potential clients can leave their information. However there is a school nearby and there already have been instances of kids going to porn sites on other touchscreens. This ofcourse is good fun but I want to keep it from happening to my screen. So my question is; Can you lock windows 10 or chrome down to just running one website while making it very hard to get out of full screen and visit other sites? I'm open to suggestions.
  7. It's not under any warranty I suppose. I did find a tiny bit of gooey liquid near the chokes, but I could not determine what it was. I do have a multimeter. I will try and check for blown fuses
  8. I got bored and bought a defective 1070 to try and repair. The advertisement said it just stopped working one day. I haven't been able to get it to work yet so maybe someone here knows. It's installed in a working motherboard which normally holds a 1080(that I took out), but for this projects holds a gtx 9400 since the threadripper 1920X has no iGPU. When the 1070 is installed on it's own, fans starts spinning, nothing is displayed and the motherboard gives a 'PCH initialization error'. When it's installed with the GTX9400, pc starts normally. I get image from the HDMI out of the 9400, but the 1070 is nowhere to be found and does not display. Fans are spinning though. There is no sign of anything burned or something on the PCB. What I have tried so far: - Installing different graphics drivers, older ones and new ones. - Refreshing thermal paste, cleared all dust - tried all PCI slots - tried to find it with Afterburner and GPU-Z(no luck) - Changed BIOS to UEFI, Legacy and both. Any help would be appreciated. cheers
  9. Definitely gonna try this one too, Thanks.
  10. So I set the boot support to legacy and everything works like a charm. All of Gigabytes utilties work, and work pretty well I might add. For now this solves my problems.
  11. Just following up on this. Speedfan did indeed not react. I will look into hardware controllers... Gigabyte did react though, and after a few messages they came with the following: Update: If you use Win10 1803, please try first to disable secure boot as a workaround since it would cause our utilities like app center, SIV… not to work normally. We will release new version to patch this issue after next MCU update from Intel. We forwarded to the responsible team. Will come back to you once they reply. So I'm gonna try this now..
  12. I think I understand, but this is getting a little over my head tbh. In short(hoping I'm even slightly in the right direction), it could be possible but latency from one cpu to the other would drop performance and and OSes are not optimized for this. And never will?
