This is personally how I would've chosen the colours for the Z97 Launch. 

I was going to spend a LOT of time on this, but I realise by the time I had the thread would be dead, so I was beginning to make a White ASUS Mobo; here it is:
Pls realise this took like 10 minutes, I do want to do a full photoshop edit on it, but it would take, Way to long..

And when i look at the Z87 Motherboards, they look like there was really someone working on these Motherboards but when you look at the Z97 Motherboards, some of them are pain in the eyes.

I love gigabyte nearly as much as you do and when I was switching to Z97 I was hoping to get a G1 sniper board as they look amazing and no one else has a board like it but I had to settle for the Z97X SOC which is still an amazing board and the orange colour is amazing but I am still disappointed in the lack of green colour schemes

I heard some ramblings a few years ago at somebody doing another White PCB motherboard, I would LOVE to see that surface, as a limited edition of course, but it would be great to see..

Why does everybody keep going on about screen resolutions on any modern mobile device anymore?  That was a point of contention 4 years ago, nowadays they all outstrip our needs.  The only reason I can see for wanting a 1080p screen on a device that big is to make video scaling even easier, even then it isn't a huge issue.
 
What is a big deal to me is battery life.  I want to be able to use my phone anywhere for it's intended features (be that calls, taking pictures/videos, web browsing, music/film/reading, maps etc.) without worrying when it's going to run out of juice.  Sure you can bring a backup charging thingy, but really that shouldn't be necessary.  Higher resolution screens require beefier hardware to manage, and generally that will require more power to run.  I'd rather have a lower resolution (but no lower than a "retina" one) screen with great colour and be able to grab more battery life.  At least phones charge bloody fast now, being able to go from 0-100% in 35 minutes is bliss.
 
In fact, the only feature set from any phone that's been interesting recently has been waterproofing.  There, that's bloody useful.  It rains a lot here in London (well, maybe not so much for the last few weeks) , now I don't have to worry about jogging to catch a bus and seeing my phone fall into a puddle.  Or on the more ridiculous front, I don't need to worry about jumping into a pool whilst forgetting again my phone is in my pocket (which has happened I'm ashamed to say).  Then there are just the added benefits of being able to take photos in wet places, like most of outdoors in the UK.
 
Either way, I'll likely be picking up an iPhone 6 regardless of the specs.  Got enough stuff "trapped" in their eco system anyway, not to mention my contract's through the office where I work, so it's a free upgrade.  Mighty tempted by the Project Ara phone though, couldn't care less about the software etc. just like the concept of a modular phone.

And why 4.7" and 5.5"??? Apple always said 4" is enough. Now 5.5"?? I'm OK with 4.7" but having the choice with 4" would be nice... Hope the rumors are wrong and there will be 4 and 4.7"... 5.5" is closer to an iPad than an iPhone...

The gold is actually better than I thought it would be when it was the 5S. Actually looked fairly good. Now the S5's version of gold is a different story.

But you're comparing an iPhone to a Flagship Android like they're the same device.
Apple has always had a lower resolution screen versus the flagship Android crowd because they realise the difference between Pixel Density and sheer resolution. With this resolution the iPhone 6 will have 321PPI which is 'Retina' or id dense enough that text looks crisp as possible from 10 inches away, any more is a waste of GPU horsepower + battery life. Also I'm glad they've moved to 32GB Base, whats wrong with Free Storage? For somebody who will have this phone for 2 or more years, and won't delete their photo library, and want their music on their device, I see this as a good thing and so will they. Also Apple manufacture their own designed chips, and don't need Quad, or Hex, or Octo cores. They probably could add 2 more cores onto the A7 and it would Smash everything else out right now, but If they can get better raw performance than the Snapdragon 805 with 2 cores at 1.3GHz in the A8 like they did last time that is a hell of an accomplishment, and gives them headroom to just 'add' (I realise it isn't that simple but the point stands) two cores and double performance again, the same thing that Intel did as core counts went from Dual to Quad.

I'll believe it when I see it,  4k video cameras aren't cheap and apple don't produce stuff that only work half as well as it should.
I'd be surprised if they released a sub par feature solely so they can claim they have the spec.
 
 

tbh, i don't see the problem. sure 1080p phones are nice but really? i could go back to lower res phone screen and not care one bit.

Im sorry, I'm new to this forum and I feel like a student shouting at a teacher but please Shut Up... I asked for reasons not a childish rant, and you've repeated yourself about 5 times in this rage-filled paragraph. 
You cannot insult a company for their user base, people have opinions and if somebody prefers to use an OS they've had better experiences with it is their decision. You're PC elitist attitude shows your complete hypocritical nature and makes your argument invalid. The patent wars are not all Apple<. Samsung is just as guilty, yes Apples patents are ridiculous, but that is an issue with the patent system in the technology sector. 
 
And lastly, insulting Steve Jobs does not make 1. You right, or 2. Apple 'suck'.  It is arguable that Steve Jobs took credit for other peoples work, but his 'genius' wasn't inventing the products, it was being a salesmen, and getting people together to create these products.
Please, Please get your head out the ground, Apple still pushes ideas that PCs adopt later on, for example High-Resolution displays, What the f*** was going on there until Apple released the Retina display, and now people reviewing Samsung GS4's are like oooo look at this [pointless] 426DPI, and the Ultrabook, was the Macbook Air, and arguing that is ridiculous.

First post, and wanted to bring up something I have been wondering about ever since I began getting deeper into the PC ecosystem, and that is, Why are Apple hated so much as a company, and their products crucified even though despite the price they are reasonably good devices.
Personally, I went from a PS2 + Windows XP user, then migrated very very happily toward Xbox 360 + Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard and now have built my own PC and run Windows 8, and Hackintosh'ed OS 10.9 Mavericks, and use that PC for gaming as well as work when on OS X.
 
Please no major PC fanboyism, I have no bias towards either of them, I use both 50/50, but I do value the ecosystem Apple has created, I just use Windows 8 for more application support and gaming, until Steam OS comes around!

The things I've been seeing a lot as a 'reason' are:
'No innovation'
It does get to a point where most things that could be fixed about smartphones are fixed, and have been since the iPhone, except battery life, and this is where I think we need to ALL stop on going for stupid crazy smartphone performance, and now crawl back to 2-3day battery life, and obviously this isn't something Apple can do themselves, but I don't know personally what else I want from a phone. Sorry to quote the Magic Man himself but "How can people tell you what you want if they haven't seen it before?"
 
'Closed and Locked Down'
Personally I disagree with the need for anyone other than professionals for this to matter. With all the Android application root codes being discovered and more and more virus' being discovered every day for Android, I would always prefer locked and safe, as opposed to open until my phone bricks.
 
'Expensive'
For the expensive argument, I'd like to put forward the fact, that buying a GS4, or Galaxy Note 3 outright is just as expensive as buying an iPhone 5S outright.
The Macbook Air was ofted scoffed at for the price, $849 for the design alone, as soon as 'WINDOWS' [Getting slated for using 'PC' as the term] vendors began working on similar designs, they realised how expensive it is and the same laptop is not exactly a lot cheaper, and I would always pay for that design.
The Macbook Pro ships with a Retina Display, for $1199, I'd pay for that over a 1366x786 laptop anyday.
The Mac Pro.. Fine You Win on this one.

Yes fair enough I completely disagree with Apples morales when it comes to patenting, But at the same time they all do it.

Yep Steve Jobs was a shitty person, but I'd still never want what he did to be undone, and value his drive to make a better and better product, and Apples prime was when Steve was alive, they are going down hill now and I really need a new laptop manufacture if they begin to decline seriously.

Yeah I think that's probably most peoples issue, as gamers peoples main cry out is the fact they cant play games with the inability to view the possibility some people don't use computers just for gaming.
But yeah when first starting to use the OS X operating system it does look very foreign, but if you enable right-click in system preferences, and adjust to the 'lingo' like 'System Prefrences' instead of 'Control Panel' but I think its just a matter of relearning for a few days.
