yeah... and you haven't seen the mouse
it had rubber grips on both sides that have partially dissapeared by now, not to mention the buttons

that's what playing ranked games in the most toxic league of legends server in the world does.

Well, we really can't blame Linus since his main role is a host, and I bet the rest of the staff have their own work to do.

Don't get me wrong, Linus and Riley are great hosts, but I also hope to see other faces from time to time.
As a writer, I'm pretty sure he can send his work over email or Google Drive. And that TechLinked episode he hosted above happened before he moved back to North Carolina.

    Hello all,
Thought i should get in early and create a central hub for all us Keyboard enthusiasts to congregate.
For those who don't know what a mechanical keyboard is, here is a quick, very brief outline.

On a regular rubber dome keyboard, ones you generally find in Schools, work places etc, under each key is rubber dome. When pressed, this rubber dome is pressed down, making contact with the underlying membrane, transferring the electrical impulse through the circuitry and thus telling the computer what button has been pressed.
A mechanical keyboard, on the otherhand, doesn't have such a set up. Instead, underneath each key is an individual switch. When pressed, this switch is forced down, connecting the contact and transferring electrical impulse. The advantages of using a mechanical switch are quite strong, firstly it provides a much more tactile and wholesome feedback, good for telling the user when they have actuated the key. This allows the user, when they have got used to it, to type at a much faster rate as they know the feeling of when they have typed a letter, and thus can increase their word count. Also, mechanical keyboards allow for NKRO, or N-key roll over. Basically this means that the user can press down as many keys as they like, the computer will register all the key strokes. With a membrane board, there is a limit.
For a much more in depth talk, check out Linus' video on Mechanical keyboards.
There are many, many switch variants out there. However the ones you are most likely to come across are: Cherry MX switches. These come in a variety of names, denoted by their colour. Each switch feels slightly different, and provides the user with different reasons to use a switch.

Cherry MX Blues: Tactile, clicky. - Good for typing, not so much gaming.
Cherry MX Browns: Tactile, non-clicky. - Good gaming and typing due to their quietness, but still maintaining the tactile feedback (you can feel a bump when you press the key)
Cherry MX Reds: Linear, non-clicky - Good for gaming, similar to Membrane in linear motion; no bump as it's not tactile.
Cherry MX Blacks : Linear, non-clicky. - Similar to MX Reds, slightly heavier

There are many other variants of the Cherry MX line up, however these are the main constituents which filtrate into the mainstream market.

Simply post what Keyboard you're running, what switch type, TKL or not, and any other mods you've done to it.
Here is my Filco Majestouch 2 TKL:

They aren't looking for more employees at the moment, afaik.
They make "We're hiring" types of videos when they want to hire someone and they mostly look for people in Canada.
They look for people who they'll actually benefit from having around, like editors, for example.

Don't let that discourage you though, you can always find a store that'll hire you for your knowledge, you just have to look for it

    1st. no overclocking?
2nd. 1060 3gb is not really a good buy, try to get 6gb version
3rd. you dont need a 650w power supply, and CXM is good quality enough. given your build is a budget one. save some money and put it towards a better GPU.

I'm generally not a fanboy however I hate a great many things, as far as tech companies are concerned I hate ASUS, Corsair, Kingston, AMD, and Seagate. (and Sony but they mostly just make playstation at this point)

Now the reasons I hate these companies are usually past experiences and/or reputation (I will NEVER buy from ASUS due to their reputation and general expensiveness) now I'm not brand loyal per say but I will blacklist brands until only one remains.

I'm feeling disappointed now, I thought Linus, who drops expensive tech for a living, would come up with something better
(because there are people that were gonna yell at me for saying he drops tech for a living, that's a joke, so cool down)

    Happy birthday

In terms of your pc, i would go for this: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/N6bfQV

Features an asus mobo paired with an asus strix 1080, though the asus 1080 costs 80£ more than some other 1080's, which means i was at your budget before adding a cpu cooler. I added the ever-reliable hyper 212 evo, but it probably wont be enough for overclocking. Its up to you really, this is what id puch though. You can also drop the 500gb ssd and get a 2tb hdd with a 250 or 128gb ssd, maybe save some money and put it towards a beefier cooler.

Anyway, happy birthday and good luck!
