  1. Is there any chance that an 8 pin cable extension could cause this sort of issue?
  2. I just said above that I got a new psu a couple weeks ago.
  3. Just got a new psu couple weeks ago. I think im going to reinstall windows and update it and see if that helps. If not, ill rma it
  4. crashes whenever I try to play a game. Sometimes it'll crash as the game is loading and sometimes it'll crash while i'm playing it. With no warning, no fps drop or anything. Just crashes.
  5. maybe ill update windows and see if that fixes anything. If not, i'll send it back to newegg. It was an open box unit so I got it for like $210. Just odd because they say that they test the cards.
  6. have you fixed it? I can't even play games without it crashing.
  7. I should add, I was able to run furmark and prime95 with no issues.
  8. Just put the Powercolor Devil rx480 8gb in today. The graphics drivers keep crashing. I've put a different bios on the card and reinstalled the drivers. Neither fixed it. Has anyone else had similar issues?
  9. So I got a new psu and that didn't fix it. Im about to order an r9 fury but I want to make sure thats for sure the issue before I continue. Is there any way I can do that?
  10. Gigabyte Windforce GTX 760 4gb and FX 8320. Ive installed through nvidia experience and by manually downloading the driver
  11. I was having issues with my computer not performing as it should and after trying everything I could think of, I did a fresh install of windows. During the installation of the graphics driver, my pc crashed and it just stays at a blank black screen when I try to boot it back up. I've reinstalled windows about 5 times so far with the same results. I was thinking it's either my psu or gpu. I have a Corsair cx600 and a Gigabyte gtx 760
  12. I can get into windows, but after a few minutes or so, I get that screen. Always different colors too lol. I doubt it's my ssd. I just got it not too long ago.
  13. yeah, ive already reset to defaults in bios. I've also checked every cable for loose connections.
  14. I don't know if this is my psu or my gpu. At first my performance would go down to the point where i wasn't able to play any games and now i can't even use my computer for more than a few minutes without this happening. The reason I believe it might be my psu is because it started happening after there was a power outage so that may have sent a surge and messed up my psu. I always try to unplug my computer before the power comes back on but I wasnt home for this one. I'm not sure what it is because i've never seen this happen before. b9040f5c-67af-44d2-9b37-a28080a68148.mp4
  15. I have a 128gb ssd and a 1tb wd blue hdd. Since the ssd is almost always being accessed, no matter how low i set the timer in power settings for hard drive turn off, my hard drive is always spinning. I mainly only have games on there so it doesn't need to be spinning when I'm not using it. How can I force it to turn off.
  16. Might be possible actually. I'm assuming that if they are, there would be no way to get them working? Regardless of the TDP? Here's the i3 http://ark.intel.com/products/49020/Intel-Core-i3-370M-Processor-3M-cache-2_40-GHz Here's the i7 http://ark.intel.com/products/52219/Intel-Core-i7-2630QM-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-2_90-GHz Kind of odd though, the intel website is saying the max tdp on the i3 is 35w but NZXT Cam is saying 25w.
  17. since they're such similar laptops, do you think it would be possible to put the bios for the 35w i7 one onto the 25w i3 one?
  18. they're slightly different, the heatpipe on the i7 is just barely bigger, but that's all. Nothing that would affect it too much.
  19. I have a dell inspiron N7010 and an inspiron N7110 with a bad motherboard. That one has a pretty good i7, the other has an i3. They are both the same socket so I attempted to switch them out but it doesn't seem to boot on the i7. I believe it is an issue with the tdp being 35w on the i7 and 25w on the i3. Is there a way I could lower it?
  20. I was having issues with lag spikes. I figured it was my gpu considering I had a little mishap with my watercooling loop (http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/534838-radiator-leak-gpu-isnt-working/#entry7095885). So i started a thread in graphics cards (). After a bit of looking around. I noticed that my pc is saying that 4 gb of my ram is "Hardware reserved" what would I need to do in order to get those 4gb usable again?
  21. Just noticed something. Went to task manager and my cpu and memory usage just don't seem to be adding up. Is there another way I could check running processes?
  22. I did disassemble it. I cleaned the whole thing off with isopropyl alcohol and then replaced the thermal paste with ac5 when re-assembling.
  23. fx-8320@4.2 cpu usage only seems to be around 50% in gta v, which is the game it's super horrible in. I've also tried running without oc.
  24. Every single game I play, I get lag spikes. Recently, my water cooling loop leaked and my gpu wouldn't work for the rest of the day. The next day, it started working and worked just fine for that whole weekend. Nearly a week later, I am getting lag spikes in every game. No matter the graphics settings. I have a 760 4gb and all the temps seem to be just fine. I also dont see any spikes in gpu usage graphs. Any tips?
