Yeah, I'm actually really keen on a Razer Blade and a Razer Core, I've hear a lot of good stuff about them. Are there other better alternatives than the XPS you would recommend?

Hi! I'm getting started on some studies this summer, and I was thinking of selling my desktop rig and going for a capable laptop or tablet that I can bring with me everywhere. There are many options to choose from, so I though I would ask here for your opinions and experiences. I'm thinking of either getting a fully capable laptop with a good GPU, a laptop and a GPU dock, or perhaps even getting a tablet like the Surface with a GPU dock, but as far as I know there's only one ASUS tablet that has Thunderbolt 3.0 which I think you need for these GPU docks. I'm going from a rig with an OC'd 5820k and a 1070, so I'm not expecting to get equal performance on a laptop. I do, however, need something quick, and something with at least "desktop-1060" graphical performance. I've got a 4K monitor that I'm planning to use with the laptop, as well as an HTC Vive that there's no way I'm giving up! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. My budget is on the high end since I will be selling my rig, but I'll probably be looking for something in the $2000 (maybe towards $3000) range. Thanks!

If I can get the $50 deal I'll do it. The new VR render techniques and the cooling as you mentioned would be nice.

Hey. I currently have a 980Ti reference card from ASUS in my rig that runs pretty much anything VR-related (or not) that I've tried so far. I was wondering if you guys have any idea just how much of an improvement in framerates I could get from a 1070 in VR titles? I know that outside of VR they are almost identical in performance, but with the 1070 being VR-ready I have heard it supports new features that can have a great impact on performance. I've managed to get a hold of a guy who might trade his 1070 STRIX OC card for mine, with a bit of extra cash on my side of course. We're talking somewhere between 50-100 USD. (TL;DR How much better are 1xxx-series *at VR*? Is trading a 980Ti+$100 for a STRIX 1070 worth it?)
