  1. Budget (including currency): 300 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1440p Gaming Other details Using 32GB RAM from old PC and my old 1060 until new 70 class cards come out I'm updating my CPU and mother board right now because windows is just becoming sluggish and getting occasional crashes. I think Motherboard or CPU might be dying. Currently using 6600k. My main question is what's a good CPU for 1440p (144hz max) gaming that can use ddr4. Ideally I would want to get 3-4 years out of the CPU . I know right now there are some really good deals on older CPUs like the 5600X, 5800X, i5 12400 & 12600k but idk if these would last the time frame I want. Are the CPUs listed probably ok (I know you can never for sure future proof something)? Or do I need to look at some higher end CPUS for what I'm looking to get out of it.
  2. So I'm really new to Linux and idk what nautilus is. I'm sitting in front of an ubuntu work station and I'm not seeing anything by that name. Would I have to install that separately? Never mind! That's just the name of the file browser. Man I'm dumb. Thanks for your help!
  3. So I have two hard drives on my computer. A ssd running windows and holding some games and another one just for everyday files. If I dual booted the ssd to also run Linux would Linux also be able to read the separate drive?

  5. http://www.martinfurniture.com/products/single-pedestal-computer-desk Here is the link for the desk, its from martin furniture. The panel is basically power strip on the back to plug in monitors, printer, and a tower and it has cable management leading to the outlets on the back. it also a usb charging port on the front as well a regular power outlet facing outwards.
  6. This is what the back of the compartment looks like (the middle shelf is removable so obviously that wont be there). Do you think that is enough airflow?
  7. I'm getting ready to build my first PC and I was wondering if I could put it in this desk? The desk doesn't have any fans in the back nor does it have a ton of open space letting air leave. I was thinking I would have the fans blow air out the front, if its possible. I'm not an expert obviously but I assume I could just unscrew the fans and turn them around so it draws air from the back and pushes it out the front. Would this be safe enough for a gaming rig/ is it possible to reverse the air flow from back to front?
