I went on the latest Youtube video and didn't find any comments that even mentioned Emily or something I would consider an attack. I changed the comments to show the newest comments first and I didn't see any comment there that I would deem an "attack" either. A lot of them were supportive, some to the point of almost being ridiculous if you asked me (like mentioning Emily, "her" and "she" like 2-3 times each sentence). Stuff like "I am so glad Emily is finally back! I missed her and she contributes so much in her way".
 
I saw one comment saying they "liked seeing Anthony again", but that might just have been someone who missed her coming out. 
There were also like three comments all saying "Emily" as replies.
 
 
 
 
Maybe they have cleared up the video, but right now it seems to be 90% people commenting about the Newton. 9% people leaving comments of support to Emily, and maybe 1% people trolling.
 
 
My point is, at this point in time it seems like you almost have to go out of your way to find negative comments about Emily. And honestly, my advice to everyone in this entire thread would be to just stop reading Youtube comments. They are awful garbage and a waste of time.
I swear to you, nobody on their deathbed has ever said "I wish I had read more Youtube comments". 

Whats the alternative? Like it or not, twitter still has massive engagement and a huge active user base. Hardly irrelevant no matter how much i personally want it to fail.

Jeez, for $600 you could've just gotten a used Herman Miller Aeron.

Office chairs from office stores. My $250 office chair is by miles comfier than many "gaming" chairs I've tried which as x2-x3 as expensive.

I see that people are already mentioning Apple and iOS.
Please remember that updates on Android are not at all the same as they are on iOS.
 
Android is far more modularized. On iOS, basically, any change requires a full system update. If Apple wants to change the location of a button in the phone app, they need to push out an entirely new OS version for you to download and install.
On Android however, a large number of core OS components can be upgraded without the "OS" being upgraded. New OS functions can even be added without an OS upgrade, such as the rumored "find my" competitor, and Nearby Share, which were modules downloaded through Google Play Services or as mainline modules.
Google could literally upgrade the entire app runtime on all Android devices running Android 11 or higher tomorrow, without pushing out an actual "OS upgrade" and without having  to go through the OEMs. They can upgrade the network stack as well if they want, and have been able to since Android 10 (Android 11 if we're talking about Wi-Fi). 
 
 
OS upgrades are not the same on Android and iOS. OS upgrades are far less important on Android, and as a result, it is a very bad idea to look at things like "Apple gives you X number of years of OS updates and Android only gives you Y". 
 
 
 
 
As far as this story goes, this sounds nice. It was pretty embarrassing that Samsung was offering better support than Google for Google's own OS.

Maybe it is reverse psychology ? Scientology supports right to repair but feel that if they say they don't, some of these big companies with change their mind because they don't want to be associated with Scientology.

Also remember you can only do so much, you can also do only do so much without killing your platform from user complaints due to changes. YouTube is kinda gun shy to really do anything big since they have been bitten hard before on lesser things.
 
7.6 billion does go a very long way to delivering an extremely large scale video and live streaming platform. I am certainly ignorant on the scale of YouTube but even so I know enough to say that will go very far on hardware, software, contracts and personnel.

I barely use Twitter so maybe I missed something, but people have as far as I remember always complained that Twitter sucks, and I have always agreed with them.
Honestly, I haven't noticed much difference since Musk took over. My biggest problem with Twitter has always been the content on the site, and that doesn't seem to have changed. I feel like there is a lot of confirmation bias/recency illusion going on with people suddenly saying Twitter got so much worse when Elon took over.
Hell, I saw people say Twitter got worse "because Elon took over" before the deal was even done. 
 
 
Twitter has always been a shithole.
A bunch of people using it for advertising.
People trying to debate complex subjects in 280, thus leading to simplistic and extremist views and takes on everything.
Celebs praying on parasocial relationships to gain more power, money and fame for themselves.
People who got somewhat famous for something now suddenly feel like they are qualified to comment on everything.
 
But it's not like other places are any better. Replacing Twitter with Mastodon or whatever the current flavor-of-the-month social media is doesn't actually solve any of the problems I see with Twitter. In fact, I'd say that the whole "let's abandon Twitter because it's owned by Elon" movement further contributes to the things I see as issues. Celebrity worship, parasocial relationships and extremist views.
