Giving Linux another go on my laptop. Trying PopOS this time. tried Manjaro last time, but felt like there was too many things that needed to be done to it. Pop fells much more "user friendly".

 

and i was already partly familiar with apt.... pacman and aur broke my head and my spirit when it didn't work XD

    I tried PopOS a few days ago. Pretty easy to set up. Even for a complete Linux no0b I was up and running with my usual programs installed in under an hour.

    I did have some problems with font rendering in browsers though which I haven't been able to fix yet 🤷‍♂️

    what kind of rendering problems? kind of curious to see what it looks like, got a screenshot?

    Just switched over to PopOS to grab a screenshot but it's working fine now. I did an update just before I shut down last night so maybe that fixed it? 🤷‍♂️

    It basically looked like when you open up ClearType in Windows and select the "Fuck my shit up, fam" options.

    oooh, well good thing it's fixed. so definitely something i would have noticed if i was experiencing it too

    always nice to see people giving linux a try! I'm fomailiar with Ubuntu pop and manjaro if something isn't working for daily use.
