  1. Ok yeah not sure which drivers. on support page only up to windows 8.1. it does not show up in device management.
  2. Question I have a windows pc I'm using as a plex/file server with the following specs I5 6500 Asus z170a MB Gtx 970 GPU Samsung 256gb M.2 boot drive 4x 4TB drives (raid 0, plex/file server) 1 LSI 9207-8i HBA 1 internal mini-sas to 4x sata breakout cable (forward) And 4 more 4TB drives I want to hook up to pc as backup drives for the servers, using the LSI Card in IT mode so I can software raid the backup drives attached onto the LSI card. I installed the card on the third pcie x16 lane that is by chipset and shares bandwidth with the M.2 boot drive. my pc boots up and the LSI menu pops up showing the 4tb drives are attached to card however, when it boots into Windows and I use disk management drives don't show up. i know the card sees the drives but how do I get windows 10 to recognize the card and the drives attached? please help thank you.
  3. also looks like i need 2 break out cable to make use of the storage controller correct?
  4. one last thing.... could i still get a good wifi card in there?
  5. I appreciate all the help I am excited to see the read and write i get with a 8 disk, 7200 rpm 3.5, 3 TB drives in raid 0 and the transfer to and from a M.2 PCIe. should be pretty high im going for the samsung 950 pro M.2 drives. Thank again!
  6. Now since i will be using m.2 (which reduces mb sata ports to 4) this storage card give 8 more additional right? so ultimately 12 drives could be housed theoretically if i had the space in my PC? and these 12 could be possibly pooled together using software raid?
  7. So running that in third lane, with m.2 in x4 mode, and pooling 8 drives into a "raid 0" array would there be any bottle necks? And the GPU will still get the full x16 from first lane so the second x16 lane is shut off so that is why i am using third x16 lane right?
  8. What lane would that storage controller go on? the second PCIe x16, thus splitting the gpu into a x8 reducing performance or the third pci, or the third PCIe x16 lane?
  9. anybodykek, do you know of any better quality raid card. im interested in more the JBOD feature since i want to use software raid and Windows Refs format, and would like to get an additional 4+ sata 3 ports. Thank you.
  10. Alright so i need to know if i can run the following with my asus z170a. (1) GPU (1) M.2 (PCIe or Sata, PCIe prefered, and i know i lose two of the mb 6 sata ports) (1) Sata add on/raid card like the following https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EA0WMOS/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza My goals if to create a PC that can act as my game server and plex media server. With at least 8 sata ports for the storage of media and games, and the M.2 as boot drive. I also would like to ideally run the M.2 in x4 mode so i can get the max speed. Please and thank you.
