  1. Hi guys. Got a PS5 and I'm trying to get Black Ops Cold War to run at 1080p @ 120hz. I've switched the console to performance mode preference which should get the ps5 to run at 120. However I'm still getting 60hz? My monitor is a Samsung lc27jg50qquxen. It's a 1440p 144hz display with hdmi 2.0 and I've set the refresh rate to 120hz. Is my monitor causing an issue in any way that is preventing me from having a 1080p @ 120hz picture? Or is this a ps5 issue that is out of my control?
  2. Hi guys. I haven't really been following the PC space for a few years now so I need help figuring out if a i5 10500 is a good option. Essentially there's a few discounted i5 10500s lying around at work as its not been a very popular seller. I can get one for £150 and a MSi B460 MORTAR mobo for £110. This looks good to me but ive been told the Ryzen 3600 is a very popular choice. I can get one for £175 and a Msi B550m PRO-VDH Wifi for £110. Im pretty sure ill buy a standard set of Corsair 2x8GB 3200mhz CL16 RAM for £55. I understand that the B460 mobo limits this to 2933mhz. I've got a 1440p 144hz monitor and would just use it for gaming. Id like to play at 1440p with 60fps but 144hz where applicable (lighter games, esports games). Im looking to buy a £350-£500 gpu, but im waiting till the AMD Big Navi release to choose one. Having onboard Wifi is also a necessity for me. So essentially which platform would make sense to buy? Id like to keep the stock cooler if possible but i could replace it. Ive also heard you can overclock the non k processers in some way using BCLK, anybody have any expereince doing this?
  3. Hi guys I'm getting 550/35 internet soon and I'm wondering what the maximum download speed on my PS4 would be. I've got the PS4 1TB old shape model. I'm just worried as my friend has 250/250 and he says he doesn't get the full download speed. Does it make a difference if I use Wifi or ethernet? Thanks in advance
  4. So I was browsing the web on Nvidia's various technologies, and on the 'CUDA Cores' Wikipedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CUDA), the GTX 1660 appears as a supported GPU for the latest version of Cuda. Is this something legit, or is it just someone being stupid on Wikipedia?
  5. Remember that a warranty will only cover the replacement of the board and not the other components that the motherboard might have destroyed. So I would take a better board in exchange for a slightly lower warranty, as you have less of a chance of blowing everything up
  6. Undervolting anything over 0.15 V would be hard for the CPU to keep up, id recommend -0.125 V on the 7700hq and then run a stress test
  7. The MSi B450 board has a much more robust power delivery than the Asus, I would take better power delivery over the extra warranty.
  8. I want to use the ROG STRIX Fusion 500 with my phone. It uses a USB dongle that connects the headset to the PS4/PC to become wireless. Can I Buy a USB to USB type c adapter and use it to plug in the dongle that would then be connected to the phone? I dont know if the Headset would recieve a connection or not? Has anyone done this before?
  9. Hi, I live in SA too! Any GPU works in pretty much every motherboard so that isn't an issue. With R14k to spend you don't really need to worry about airflow as those components aren't going to be big heat producers. I cant open the pdf list for some reason, but here's what you need to know: 1. Spend the bulk of money on a good GPU, as this will improve performance the most. 2. Get a recent CPU with at least 4 cores, id recommend Intel as your looking maximize framerates and you don't have the optimal budget to buy expensive RAM. The i3 8100 goes for R2k and you pair it with a cheap H310 motherboard for about R1k. If you want to dabble into overclocking, the i3 8350k goes for about R2.7k and you'd have to get a more expensive Z370 motherboard but at that price, id go for the i5 8400 as it has 6 cores! And you don't have to worry about overclocking.
  10. Sup everyone I've been looking through the internet and I can't seem to find a set of headphones that meets my needs: 1. Need Bluetooth connectivity 2. Needs a semi-decent microphone 3. Should be able to connect to my PS4 wirelessly (through either a USB dongle or Bluetooth if that's a thing) or through a standard 3.5mm jack 4. Then obviously be able to connect to my phone, tablet, etc I've only managed to come across the Steelseries Arctic 3 Bluetooth, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. If you know where to find these headphones (international shipping) please could you give me a link to try, and/or any other headphone options I can try Thanks Everyone
  11. Wow thanks for the insight! Definitely made me relise that you dont cheap out on RAM!
  12. Can anyone confirm to me that RAM speeds dont make a big difference in gaming with the coffeelake chips? Id assume that it dosnt, i just want some co firmation tho
  13. Hi everyone Im upgrading to a Samsung S8 from my good ole iPhone 5S. So I went to my local carrier, to check out what deals and colours I could get. I live in South Africa, so ive got all the S8 colours available to purchase since im in a region outside the US. Ive narrowed it down to three colours: Black Maple Gold Orchid Grey I like the black since its very sleek and combined with the black front, it looks pretty sick. The Orchid Grey seems to be the crowd favourite, due to its purple-grey nature, and not showing scratches easily Maple Gold is awesome as its only available in the Australasia/Southern Africa markets, so the prospect of having a limited run product is pretty sick as well, and the gold wraps nicely around the rail of the phone. Whats your favourite colour? Bonus Points if you tell me why Turtleloverdyl
  14. The aero 15 is $200 dollars more than your budget, but has a 512gb SSD and much more gaming capabilities, for 200 less tho, you get longer battery life, lighter and better construction, a better screen aswell as better keyboard and trackpad. Up to you in the end
