  1. Acer swift 3 is a good option that you could consider... it’s in your budget, lighter than other options, and has a mx150, well able to handle lol
  2. The meta box laptop is too heavy, I really want a light laptop.
  3. Im looking for a gaming capable laptop for school for a budget of $1500 aud. I’m most interested in weight (needs to be light for portability, LF under 2kg), battery life, dedicated graphics and reasonable build quality: These are some of the laptops I’ve rounded down to what I’m interested in: 1. Acer swift 3 SF514-52 + 1.7kg, ~6hr battery life, mx150 graphics, well built - glossy panel (non-touch), slightly hard to open, some sharp edges Aus buy link: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/laptops/acer/acer-swift-3-sf314-52g-77na-14-laptop/468788/ review: http://www.ultrabookreview.com/16888-acer-swift-3-sf314-52-review/ 2. Gigabyte P34G-10 v7 + 1.7kg, 1050 2gb graphics, runs cool, no gamer-y looks (benefit in my part as I’m taking it to school, don’t want to be judged as that edgy gamer kid with the violently red laptop *cough* *cough* dell Inspiron), price is a steal - poor battery life 2-3 hrs Aus link: http://www.mwave.com.au/product/gigabyte-p34g1050701s-14-gaming-notebook-i76700hq-8gb-256gb-gtx1050-win10-ac02659 review: http://www.techradar.com/reviews/gigabyte-p34g-v7/2 Hope you can help internet.
  4. The asus vivobook has a TN panel, not IPS, that can be a deal breaker for some people.
  5. Hey guys, I was wondering what type of power cable or socket (such as IEC) the Acer predator XB241H uses. I ask this because I live in Australia and plan to get this monitor shipped from Amazon, and us here use different plugs so I would have to buy an extension. Thanks.
  6. Finally, I think I have councluded that I will go gsync. I fount the acer xb240h to seem pretty good, 144hz and 24". I would be happy to hear any other suggestions otherwise. Thanks.
  7. Clarifiying, would buying a 144hz monitor and using vsync exclusively be a waste? Previous poster tomoki said that vsync limits your fps to 60.
  8. So would you think it would be worth investing into a gsync monitor or saving the money and buying a cheaper monitor, and sticking with the 60fps?
  9. Hey everyone, I'm quite new to the PC world and I have a querie, I was wondering if you require g-sync or freesync in order to use the vsync setting in games. I have just bought a 1060 and want to play games such as CSGO, but don't really want to pay 450 (Aus). Thanks. followup, would buying a 144hz monitor and using vsync exclusively be a waste? Previous poster tomoki said that vsync limits your fps to 60, is this true?
