  1. It was paid through Amazon. I know 100% it was legit. They had one of my cards that was expired years ago still on file. I also spoke with Amazon customer service about my payment and it was through them so its covered.
  2. Ok just talked to Amazon customer service and she is assuring me that everything looks to be good and that if anything at all happens then Amazon is covering it. I have screen shots of the sellers page, my invoices, as well as emails from Amazon. And in Amazons system it shows I called customer support to inquire about a possible fraudulent seller. I voiced my concerns with customer service and she is assuring me that everything looks ok and not to worry. Said my money isnt lost and if worse comes to worse than I am fully covered. She also sent me an email showing that I spoke with her. As well as annotations in my "amazon account history" that they have, that voice my concerns. Also told me that all their phone calls are recorded and monitored. I think I am covered as much as I can be here. So now all I can do is wait.
  3. I have a question...Lets say this is a scam. Should I be worried that these people have my credit card info? The payment definitely went through Amazon because it suggested a card I dont even have active anymore from years ago. But should I transfer all my funds from the card I used so my account dosent get wiped? Does Amazon even give my card info directly to the seller or is it charged through Amazon?
  4. Yall do not make me feel any better about this lol. Seemed a bit too good to be true but.....People have been known to make typos before. Forget a zero by accident. I wrote an email saying I wanted to cancel my order, I suppose If I dont get anything back in return then its a scam. Either way. I was under the impression that Amazon had control of things like this and anyone who wanted to sell on Amazon had to be verified or something.
  5. Thats what im thinking is its just $100 but if I found $100 laying on the ground I wouldnt leave it there thinking "oh its just $100 I dont need that". Im just getting cold feet after the fact because I ordered not wanting to spend 10 minutes doing research and miss out on stock. So yall think I should leave the order placed? Have any of you heard of any Amazon scams? And if this is a scam is it a scam on me or a scam on Amazon? Like if they dont show I file a claim with Amazon and they pay me. Then Amazon deals with the store right?
  6. Ok so I have nothing really to worry about. Other than $100 being tied up for a month or two possibly its safe to say that they will either arrive and be what they are supposed to be...or they wont arrive and I can file a claim and get my money back.
  7. Ya but am I covered? I mean if they dont show Amazon with refund my money right? I just want to know am I covered? Like if nothing shows up Amazon will refund me right?
  8. Like the title said the link is below. My question is did I mess up? I just bought 30 of these on a whim hoping to sell them on Ebay but im having second thoughts seeing as how the seller just opened this account. What is Amazons policy on scams? Is it possible to scam on Amazon? Do I need to cancel my order (if so I need to do that quick its been about 15 minutes)? What do you guys think. Great deal or scam and i may not see my cash again? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005O65JXI?tag=slickappfp-20&ascsubtag=378603dea87f11e6a3d20e778ac74f390INT&m=A1TUW3J9NR50ML
  9. @Patoot My post was mainly aimed at the CIV game play. But even with that said im not sure on the FPS or the tax a 4K video would put on a GPU. Cant be as much as a game but depending on your line of work (unspecified because interwebs) you may benefit from a better GPU. 3-D rendering, animation, video editing/transcoding what have you, are all very taxing. If your just looking at running the screens ya the 970 will do it. With the 980TI and 1070 priced so closely to one another If you upgraded a 1070 would be sufficient. Thats based on your current workload and games that are not very taxing though. EDIT after some research apparently even a GTX 960 will run dual 4K monitors (non gaming purposes). https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/30rcav/question_dual_4k_monitors_at_60hz/?st=ivdmuyg4&sh=e0a2a602
  10. I run a 970 and I agree that this card is great and can run at 4K but it wont be the 60 FPS experience that you would want in most games (or all lol). Upgrade man. 1070 and 1080 are nice but if not feasible the 980TI is still a great card. Maybe GTX 970 in SLI? With all the hype of the new cards that came out and everyone buying them up people are selling their old Nvidia cards relatively cheap. Could probably find another 970 in the $150-$175 range. Not necessarily a permanent fix but it would make your experience better and future proof you for maybe the next year at 4K.
  11. I had to search for a second to find this because the original video I was going to link was with a 970 doing 60 FPS but it wasnt maxxed out. But I believe that this meets the criteria of 60 FPS max settings 4K? Single GPU MSI GTX1080 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAv2AjKF_1o
  12. Put me down for testing. I dont know much about creating maps for severs but I play around in the in-game editor of that means anything.
  13. Trial and error my friend. I would try installing it first and see if it posts or utilizes all of it. If all is well I would try a RAM bench marking tool and just see what you get. At the worst you get a learning experience from it.
  14. Ebay has the motherboard and CPU (970a and fx4350) priced around the $60 for mobo and $80 for CPU. Which my mileage may vary on what I can get. I would still have the remnants of the Optiplex system to sell as well. Case, PSU, disk drive, possibly ram (ill keep it and use it if I can break even), etc...So I think my idea of breaking even is definitely possible. Is it worth it using the generic the MOBO instead of an "aftermarket" one is the real question. I have a modular PSU so that shouldnt be a problem, and I only use one PCIE slot for my GPU because I use a USB WIFI adapter currently. This "should" be very cost effective unless I buy a motherboard. In that case when it does come time to upgrade then I would have to sell my CPU and MOBO to someone else and that may be difficult.
  15. Current Setup -FX 4350 ($80 for CPU, MOBO, and RAM-craigslist) -MSI 970a Mobo -Reference GTX970 ($175 craigslist) -8 Gigs Fury X ram -EVGA Supernova 850 PSU ($125 new) -1 TB Samsung ($25 craigslist) I found this http://www.ebay.com/itm/142166541712 It has an I5 3470 in it. I have about $400 in my current gaming setup and am looking for an upgrade. A cheap or free upgrade. I have swapped and traded parts on this PC buying and selling and have gotten what I have for a fairly good deal. The Dell optiplex I linked has an I5-3470 CPU in it. Compared to my FX4350 what I can get research wise is this.... www.cpubenchmark.net benchmark for I5-3470 Score 6569 www.cpubenchmark.net benchmark for FX-4350 Score 5242 The plan would be to buy the PC off of ebay. Transplant the motherboard and CPU into my budget build rig. Then sell off my FX4350 and MSI 970A motherboard. QUESTIONS- Is this a good idea? The LGA1155 socket is dead and unless I am going to buy a new $100+ motherboard I will be using the generic board which seems like a somewhat questionable idea. So where do I draw the line. Im fairly sure I can break even using the I5 and generic board just selling off the rest of the optiplex and my amd gear, but if I were to spend more money how much more would I have to add until this becomes a bad idea. By bad idea I mean there being no real upgrade path for me with this socket. I mean yes there is an upgrade path but for the price to upgrade I could be buying top tier Skylake I5/I7's price which would call for ANOTHER new motherboard. So where is the line drawn where this would seem like a bad investment? Right now all im seeing is more performance for next to nothing but is that all there is to it or am I missing something that could be a detriment here? Or worse maybe a better deal/setup I could do the same swap and sell scheme with? Keep in mind the idea is to spend as little money as possible. If I wanted to just go and buy a new 6700K I would, I like the idea of swapping and trading...tinkering. Learning ya know, I have built many computers like this and its saved me lots of money, and given me experience with lots of different hardware instead of just the hardware one specific build has. Give me some thoughts/advice please.
