  1. Currently trying to upgrade to an Samsung 860 EVO and set it as the boot drive for an Alienware Aurora R7. I cloned the 1 TB HDD that came with it to the 250 GB SSD using Samsung migration tool. After it cloned I disconnected the HDD and turned on the computer to see if it would boot. It did. The problem is afterwards I turned off the computer to set the machine from RAID to AHCI to remove the Optane module and reconnect the HDD to use it as as storage. The machine wouldn’t boot it would go to the Alienware Support menu. So I tried uninstalling the ssd and reconnecting the HDD Amd the optane module but I didn’t set it back to RAID. Now the machine is on the Repairing Dis errors menu. Where did I go wrong and how do I correctly set the SSD as my boot drive and have the 1 TB HDD as storage?
  2. I delidded for the first time earlier today. I delidded my 8700k using Der8auers delid die mate 2. Everything went smoothly I got the stock glue off, I applied Thermal grizzly liquid metal to the die and on the IHS, I covered the exposed parts with clear nail polish, and used black gasket maker to reseal the cpu. My question is how long should I let the cpu reseal? I used the DDM2 resealing tool to clamp the IHS to the pcb perfectly. I’ve searched and seen some people let it sit for an hour and others over night. Will 8 hours be enough, because I finished the process before I left for work and it’s an 8 hour shift.
  3. So i overclocked my 8700k to 5.1 ghz at 1.39 volts on an Asus maximus x hero with 16 gb of trident z rgb RAM at 3200mhz. I ran prime 95 for stability for about 45 minutes and it ran fine. Temps were around high 70s to low 80s. However, I saw that that the core clock would dip down to 4.8 even to 4.7 for very brief moments. This also happens when I play games. While playing battlefiled 4 the clock dips down to 4.8 for very brief moments occasionaly but while playing csgo, the clock stays at 4.8 and only goes up to 5.1 ghz for brief moments. my temps across the cores and the package were at around 60 C. I am using a corsair h150i pro 360 mm aio to cool it. I saw a video from TechDeals saying that if the clocks dip, it is because of thermal throttling. Is that whats happening here? even though my temps while playing games are around 60c? Im also idling at 40 c but the clock goes down to 4.8 briefly sometimes as well.
  4. So i overclocked my i7 8700k to 5.1 ghz at 1.39 volts on an asus maximus x hero. 16 gb of Trident rgb z 3200 mhz. I ran prime 95 for half an hour and the temps maxed out at high eighties but those were only brief spikes. The temps hovered between 75-80 C. Is it safe to run this overclock? I realize they were only very brief spikes but i just want to make sure. I idle at low 40s and while playing battelfield 4 the temps hover around mid 50s to low 60s. I also ran cinebench and received a score of 1660. I am using a corsair h150i pro 360 mm rad to cool .
  5. I just wanted to make sure because i previously had a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 and it did not fluctaute as much. It would stay a steady temp.
  6. I just installed a corsair H150i Pro in my Meshify C with an i7 8700k. After booting up and checking my temps on MSI afterburner, it shows the cpu temperatures fluctuating dramatically from low thirties to mid forties rapidly all while being idle. I also checked using Hardware Monitor and the temperatures across all cores and the package fluctuate rapidly as well. I tried reinstalling the AIO and applying new thermal paste, but the same thing happens. Any suggestions?? I attached a picture of the graph from MSIAfterburner. I am running stock speeds. I was intending on overclocking with this AIO but after seeing this I was concerned.
  7. btw your meshify c build looks absoultely amazing! Its insane bro!
  8. I agree, however, if you remove the web like plastic that is directly behind the mesh you are able to mount the fans on the outside of the fram while having a rad on the inside
  9. would i be able to mount a corsair h150i 360mm radiator on the front, while not altering my gpu but mounting the fans on the outside of the frame??
  10. Bro youre a life saver thanks so much for this
  11. That sounds like an awesome idea! DO you have any examples or links to rigs that show this??
  12. \ I want to water cool my rig. I have a problem though. I am running an 8700k on an Asus Maximus X Hero motherboard with 16gb or Trident Z RGB ram at 3200 Mhz. My GPU is an Asus ROG Strix 1080ti OC. The gpu is the problem. It is too long to fit an AIO at the front of my Meshify C and I don't think i can mount it at the top either due to my motherboard and RAM. Is there any way for me to water cool? I am open to modding the case and custom loops. I just don't know if its possible in this case with the components i have. Thanks!
