HD 700 are really love or hate, because of their spike and drop in the higher frequency range.
You could look for a used HE 500, that would give you the bass punch and a decent soundstage, which you can make bigger by modding them and making the grill bigger + removing the foam.

HD 650 wouldn't be a bad headphone at all, but it is very laid back, with a veiled treble and mid bass bump, which gives them a lush warm sound that is very relaxed. PM3's don't offer much detail, it is very much a headphone where you give up some sound for looks and it is also a very relaxed and warm sounding headphone.

The HE 500 is prob the most "wild and fun" at least from the bunch I have talked about.

    Hey guys!

Thought you'd all get a kick out of a little video we put together turning the M50x into open back cans. The results aren't going to win any style awards, though it doesn't look terrible either.

Soundwise it works pretty well actually. I have trouble describing the sound change. A little less muddy, perhaps? I say if you own a pair you don't use and enjoy a little arts and crafts project it's certainly a fun way to see how changing the earcups impacts sounds. Or just watch and enjoy as we destroy these 160 dollar cans

(This video really has nothing to do with Antlion other than our social media guy wanted to do it and ... well, what the hell, we had a spare pair lying around collecting dust!)

Check with either AMD Master Utility or HWInfo.

Unless you have negative ambiente temps, those cpu temperatures are basically impossible.

You should also OC through the BIOS. Software has quircks. Watch some tutorials on youtube.

kreechrr reacted to DannyRyu in Ryzen and Threadripper good for gaming?
cheaper than Intel counter parts, overclockable, more and more games are beginning to use more than 4 cores and you always have the ability to stream and edit or other tasks that require more cores.
so it's generally a smarter idea Why limit your self for a couple fps at the same price?
also on a separate note, it makes more sense as a consumer because the more money AMD has the better chance they have of being even more competitive with intel and we can enjoy better technology for cheaper! Competition between companies can be a good thing for the consumer!

But Ryzen X CPU's do have XFR (the AMD Turbo Boost) that only kicks in if cooling allows. usually, it's as much as 100MHz.

Lol a 1600x or 1500x can do that pretty reliably, a 1700x or 1800x could probably do it as well.

Ryzen can go to 4.1 on good chips, heard that 4.2 is possible on golden, well cooled chips.

My 1080 Ti Founders is absolutely fine with a custom fan curve, it mostly stays at 78C under 100% load. I'd get that from a manufacturer such as EVGA (cuz warranty) and because the FE looks 100 times better than the other blowers, tbh.

kreechrr reacted to stealth80 in Picking out ram for new build
for video rendering it would probably be cheaper (and around 20% faster) to go with a Ryzen 7 1700 ($290 if you look around) and a new motherboard based on the X370 or B350 chipset which will set you back $130 - $250. I think that combined is still less than a 6850K

Quote me next time. Do you already have the motherboard? If not, I would get a Ryzen processor. LGA 2011-3 is dead. Those processors you mentioned compete with the Ryzen 5 1600 ($200) and the Ryzen 7 1700 ($300).

kreechrr reacted to 3rrant in do i need to buy a UPS for my gaming PC ?
A surge is usually 110%+ higher than the nominal power. While difference in the order of +-30% are common and normal, they won't damage anything. A 440V can go down to 360 and up to 520 in industrial setups costantly.

No, it is not NEEDED to protect the PC with an UPS, but if it your PC costs thousands it's a good thing to do. If you are considering it only because of these "voltage differences", don't buy it. It's useless.

I use a CyberPower UPS that outputs the current in a sinewave shape. It seemed to make my old intel rig run a little smoother (or placebo effect?) but my current Ryzen rig hasn't been plugged into anything else but I'm satisfied with my UPS. But I also invested over 2k in my Rig and all connected accessories and didn't want another power outage (had more where I live this past year than any year in my memory) to possibly damage anything. It's not usually necessary, though.
