  1. So i biffed it. My CPU had been running at stable 100C when playing World of Warcraft, i decided to open it and remove dust, which i did. Then i came up with the brilliant idea to replace the thermal paste without doing any research on disassembly on this computer. So i just went for it, in short i bent the heatsink. Computer works, have been running stable for about 2 hours on Prime95 between 60-95C (better than before). Will this have any long term issues? and i am wondering if i can somehow take out the parts, and mount them in a case and put on stationary computer cooling like for example Noctua's coolers to help with cooling. I dont use this computer as a laptop ever, as i have a M1 Macbook Pro i use as a laptop.
  2. Problem is now solved. Silly mistake on my part. When i installed Windows i installed Windows 10 Pro "N" version. This installs without Directplay and Media features installed. So once i activated Directplay and installed the media features everything worked like it is supposed too.
  3. Tried with diffrent RAM, did not work
  4. Hey you beautiful people I am starting too loose hair over this horrible problem, so now i have to make a post about it. The problem i am experiencing is pretty simple, games wont launch. This happens across Steam and Epic Games launchers. When i press play it goes about 3 seconds nothing much happens and it stops the process, and i have to press play again, stuck in a endless loop of play button. My Hardware: Motherboard: Asus B450-Plus Ram: 16GB 3000Mhz, dont remember the brand SSD: Intel SSDPEKNW010T8 1000GB Graphics Card: ASUS Gtx 1070 Mouse: Logitech MX518 Keyboard: Razer Cynosa Chroma So i have tried a lot of diffrent things now as i have google for about 8 hours into this problem. Things i have tried that has been recommended: - Verify game cace on games - Reinstall steam - Reinstall games - Reinstall all drivers - Update BIOS - Install drivers for keyboard, mice and headset - Remove all peripherales like controllers - Turn off gsync - Run games as administrator - Run games in compability mode - Format and reinstall Windows The wierd part is that some games actually work. Take for example in the battle.net launcher, all games there launch without a problem and i have been playing World of Warcraft like a loon, considering thats the only game i can play nowadays. And in Steam, Destiny 2 and Getting over it with blabla works aswell, but CODBO3, CSGO, GTA5, Anno 1800 wont launch. Can someone pls help me? or put me out of my misery. <3
  5. Okey thanks guys! I will try this as soon as i get home today, and i will get back to you. You are awesome!
  6. Hey awesome LTT community! I need some help troubleshooting my desktop computer it has these components: Desktop: Graphics card: Asus GTX 1080 Ti CPU: i7-4790k Running stock clock RAM: 16GB DDR3 Motherboard: Asus, i will come back with the specific modelnumber. Monitor: Acer Predator 27" 1440p 165Hz w/ gsync Primary storage device: 512GB PCI-E SSD SSD 2: 500GB SSD HDD 3: 2TB Mechanical HDD Laptop: Hp Omen 15" 2018 Graphics Card: GTX 1070 6GB CPU: i7-8750H RAM: 16GB DDR4 Primary storage device: 256GB PCI-E SSD Secondary storage device: 1TB Samsung 850 Evo SSD Monitor: Acer Predator 27" 1440p 165Hz w/ gsync When playing games like PUBG, BF1, my laptop runs these games more smoothly, i might get higher FPS on my desktop, but it way more unstable, the FPS drops more often then the laptop, wich is find wierd, i know im running DDR3 on the desktop and DDR4 on the laptop, but i wouldent think that is the problem. I have tried playing games on the same monitor with the same graphical fidelity so the testing is as accurate as possible. Is it the CPU on the desktop that is bottlenecking the GPU too much? if so should i consider overclocking? and if that is the case, can someone give me a few pointers on what clock speed and voltage i should try out. Can anyone come with a few tips on where i can start troubleshooting this setup, because right now im just playing on my laptop because im at a loss when it comes to the desktop pc. PS: When playing games like Witcher 3, World of Warcraft etc, RPGs and games that are not competitive FPS i do not notice any diffrence. And games with high graphic fidelity runs alot better on the desktop computer. PPS: My CPU likes hitting 100% load during PUBG :/
  7. So im realy looking forward to Floatplane.com, hows the progress on this? I dont watch the LTT livestreams so if they update there i dunno xD
  8. I am very excited for Floatplane however i am just wondering how far into the development it is. Anyone know?
  9. I am starting to realise this, if Asus comes out with a 35" panel i will change to that in a heart beat.
  10. Hey guys! So ive been having some troubles after i finally decided to get a Acer Predator Z35 (I choose this model because it had a resolution of 2560x1080 and i really didnt want to go for 3440x1440 beccause of fps). But i noticed a problem pretty fast wich was corrupt pixels and a insane problem with ghosting, this was with displayport and DVI (tried both) and on diffrent computers. What makes it even more interested is i have reached out to others that have this monitor and they have the same problems, aswell as the demo screens that are in the shops. So it ended up with me returning the screen to the store and trading up for the Z35P after they said that those problems had been fixed on that model, i regret to say that no it has not been fixed, it still has the corrupt pixels but not so much the ghosting, the ghosting is still there, but not as much as it previously was). So i had to deliver that monitor in aswell now i have the Acer Predator X34A wich is working perfectly (however it has 3440x1440 and i wanted 2560x1080). So i decided to do some more research and i quickly found out its not just the Z35 and Z35P that has that problem, even the C301c and XB271HU has the same thing with the pixels and ghosting, this is a HUGE flaw and should not be a problem on such costly hardware, or am i in the wrong here? I contacted Acer and all they said was return it to the shop, they were not interested in the problem. These monitors gets sold still and its very upsetting to watch that people are paying that much for faulty monitors. Could @LinusTech look into this? would think this could be a interesting video. I really dont wanna keep my X34A since what got me to originally buy one of these 21:9 beats was the 35" panel, and i just dont like the 34" panels but im kinda stuck with that now since the other ones have errors with them. Im adding some photos taken from the diffrent monitors here (i do apologize for the image quality): http://acer.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/19076i32E9924D39A25642/image-size/large?v=1.0&px=999 http://acer.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/19077iEDA4F49B4FDD100A/image-size/large?v=1.0&px=999 http://acer.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/19074i3EA080F014F3FB4E/image-size/large?v=1.0&px=999 http://acer.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/19080i6A8D94596EF6E60F/image-size/large?v=1.0&px=999 http://acer.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/19084i17211CEC3E95F4EA/image-size/large?v=1.0&px=999 http://acer.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/19085iE4A4879F631509A3/image-size/large?v=1.0&px=999
